Łukasz Seliga needs little introduction to anyone even roughly following Poland’s dance and electronic underground, as his contributions – as a live performer, producer, remixer or DJ –embellished the better part of its story. 

Between his solo endeavours under the slg moniker, and projects such as Casio pepe or Seltron 400, he has long traversed genres and sounds, aptly and joyfully, always staying true to his distinct musical vision rather than being prompted by periodic shifts of fancy.

On Sideways, his newest EP outing for Trance-Atlantyk, Łukasz appears under his own name – Seliga – for the first time, thus restating his identity and underlining the honesty of his craft.   

In a time when dance music tends to be driven increasingly by nostalgia, Seliga takes but a sip, ultimately eschewing it. As a result, the music we hear is more of a direct expression of his own abiding purpose – a lived, rather than re-lived experience, an auditory utopia, sung in a language the artist is deeply anchored in, but whose expressive qualities he seeks to enhance, and not simply exploit.

In French, "Bon Voyage" expresses good wishes to someone about to embark on a journey. 

Calling from Mars(eille), french producer Ndlss Seumar, a fresh newcomer who brings us summer before the hour, delivers four proggy, trance-oriented tracks. From energetic vibes to more dreamy but powerful melodies, the four tunes are brimming with emotion. 

'You Butter Be Bready', is like having French toast for breakfast- sweet house vibes with joyful stabs that provide the necessary energy for the coming day.
From there, the rest of the EP takes a psychedelic turn. 'Bon Voyage' makes us blast off, with its acid sounds and syncopated synth, towards Venus or 'The Sister Planet'. For this third track, heat increases, the bpm accelerates, the resonant textures mix to form a mind-bending groove. The last tune, 'Stompy Yeezy', is like landing, the first steps in a new environment. The deep and heavy bass plays with more melancholic melodies as if to say goodbye.

Premiering the B1 on this record, "Ostone" by relative newcomer @kerstonemusic, kicks off swiftly with nimble and agile hats panning across the mix throughout. Gentle melodies ebb and flow against plucked bells, alongside the gorgeous birdsong gracefully hiding behind the mix; Ostone creates a truly mesmerizing blend of sounds (Kerstone evens deploys various synth wipes that sound like the aural equivalent to lens flare). Though gently rocking back and forth in one place at some points, the track breaks down twice throughout, allowing itself and the listener to measure the meatier portions against some isolated moments and ambiance and bliss.

Ostone serves as the third of 4 tracks, and in conjunction with the full EP, truly helps to summon the rolling green hills and cloudy-yet-clear skies that @khasia_hills is setting out to propagate. Lucky for them, their entire constituency is comprised of talented producers, fully capable of sending their listeners far away from the troubles of everyday life, and into the joy of wandering through a field and forest of their design.
