Amsterdam's shaman DJs Kiki Toao & Rombout are back with a heavily pumping techno banger from the spiritual hyperspace, Djinn Disco. Djinn "are supernatural creatures in early Arabian and later Islamic mythology and theology. They are not purely spiritual, but also physical in nature, being able to interact in a tactile manner with people and objects and they are also subject to bodily desires like eating and sleeping. Jinn mentioned in Middle Eastern folktales are often depicted as monstrous or magical creatures." And this is how it sounds when they have a party. In just a few years, Josh Butler has firmly established himself as one of house music's most revered talents. 2016 saw the launch of his label Origins, with Josh welcoming the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Todd Terry, Robert Owens and Santé to the imprint since, scoring his second Beatport #1 through his and Bontan’s stand out ‘Call You Back’ in early 2017. Add to the equation EPs on Kaoz Theory, Rejected and Defected, collaborations with Kerri Chandler and Darius Syrossian, and remixes for industry heavyweights Carl Cox and Joris Voorn, and it’s clear to see that Josh Butler is only just getting started. Established in 2016, Chicago-based label These Things Take Time have built themselves a unique sound and reputation by playing homage to house, disco, lo-fi and everything in-between. Consistency is key for record labels and these Chicagoans nail it every time, frequently releasing awesome tracks packed with raw emotion – make sure to keep an eye out for upcoming shows around America.

TTTT are armed with a fresh new EP TIME003 from B.Hayes vs. DJ Dre, of which we have the pleasure of premiering one stunner of a track from DJ Dre himself, 215. Sharp hi-hats are the order of the day with this one, alongside a groovy percussive beat building up to the most euphoric keys and vocals you’ll hear all week. The elements in this track seem to perfectly compliment the next with Bicep-esque quality, without a doubt our favourite track on the whole EP.

Originating from Paris in 2016 Real D, @Jus-Jam, Kerstone, Robin Riccitiello and creative director morningradient decided to join forces to launch this amazing vinyl label – @khasia_hills. Khasia Hills are a very unique label in many different ways, inspired by Meghalaya in Eastern India, this amazing geographical location is home to the Khasia Hills itself, which feature some of the most awe-inspiring “majestous palm trees in the world”. A breath of fresh air in a cramped music industry, on each and every vinyl you receive a special hand drawn palm tree by the remarkable Cambodian/French painter Mr. Syphol Moeur with label co-founder morningradient designing the sleeve. It is easy to see that a significant amount of thought and effort has went into the fine details of this label which also comes across in the material they release.

Release number three for Khasia Hills comes in the form of ‘Monsoon’ [KH003] by one of the labels founders, Jus Jam. This 4-track EP is due to be released next month and features one track that we are extremely excited to premiere, track 2 on the A side ‘Late Night’. Heavenly sounds and blissed-out pads are blended together to produce a pure haze of house lushness something that Jus Jam is well known for. This record starts out with some divine piano keys in the company of always enjoyable bongos, perhaps inspired from the South Asian theme of the label. Taking its time to gently build-up to the emotional percussive groove it is, the varied vocals and horns add great depth and width to this track. Make sure to grab yourself a copy upon release.

DJ Whipr Snipr founded @NerangRecordings back in 2016 in the town of Nerang, residing on Australia’s Gold Coast. The focus of the label is to platform quality feet-moving house music and its sibling subgenres. Since its formation, they have gone on to release material from some impressive artists such as Subjoi, Paradiso Rhythm and Interplanetary Criminal. This year has been a milestone year for the label, moving to vinyl releases, with an incoming EP containing one face-melter of a track which we are delighted to premiere today.

Next up in the Aussie imprint's line of releases is the 3rd vinyl to come out on Nerang Recordings, NRNGVA003. A 6-track 12” EP featuring a variety of impressive artists including Ray Kandinski, Gallery S, Anthony Fade, DJ Bowlcut, DJ Longdick and DOS (soundcloud), whose track we are featuring. The 2nd track on the A side comes from the Austrian lo-fi magician, who smashes it with an outstanding home hitting raw anthem called Guaca. If you love raw house music that’s packed full of emotion like we do then this whole EP is for you, with Guaca being the cream of the crop. Like in his other material, the drums alone are absolutely outstanding and really bring the track to life while its deep ear-worming pads and chords present an addicting rhythm leaving you wanting more. Typical DOS. This is one 12” you shouldn't wait to get your hands on.

Better Listen Records is a label that needs no introduction, straight out of Washington DC, BLR has put out some breath-taking music from some of the biggest names in house and disco with Cody Currie, Ethyène and Ari Bald to name a few. With a motto to “press remarkable grooves” they certainly exceed this with each and every release, and have come a long way since establishing in 2016 no thanks to some great work from Martín Miguel.

BLRVA001 is next up on releases for Better Listen with the First Class a varied artist EP with quite possibly four of the most talented artists in the game; Folamour, Ethyène, Ari Bald and Dorsi Plantar. The first track comes from the magical and magnificent Folamour with ‘Oneness’ a beautiful piece of art in which we have the pleasure to premiere for you today. The most consistent artist in his field Folamour never fails to amaze with his music which to quote his label is, ‘’For Heaven Use Only’’. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how good the Frenchman actually is and this track follows suit. Sweet guitars, addictive piano melodies and jazz-infused goodness with this one, things Folamour is well-known for. A true feel good banger that will have you singing along and dancing all day and all night. Let’s face it Better Listen and Folamour was always going to end well and we cannot wait to grab a copy of this 12”. Out on april 20th via Juno!

Astropical Tapes have been putting out great music since 2015. Straight out of Poland, label boss Marcin Krupa has created a great vibe around this vinyl-only outfit. Other than the high quality of music they release, the artwork to each and every release also matches that high standard. An attractive trait of the label is the diversity of genres they are home to, ASTR001 consisted of some amazing electronic sounds an EP we definitely recommend checking out! Then ASTR003 saw some Hip-Hop flavour introduced to the scene along with deep house vibes which then followed into the next release. Which now brings us to ASTR006 with the sound that everyone loves, disco house.

Brand new material coming out of Astropical Tapes in the form of ‘Spring Edits EP]’ from disco house’s upcoming star Tech Support. This vinyl will be a hot release with only limited copies being made available. The EP contains 4 wonderfully produced disco edits ranging from smooth groovers to dancefloor thumpers, today we have the pleasure in premiering the first track on the release ‘Taking It Back’. We always enjoy listening to Tech Support’s signature percussive drums and this is where this great track starts off at before that beautiful classic disco sample starts to filter into our ears. The bells and stabs floating around give the track great warmth and width, and perfectly compliment Air Power’s soft vocals as they cut through the mix. But perhaps the most satisfying thing about this piece of music is the divine cinematic strings that uplift the whole song

Smallville sub-label, Fuck Reality, have welcomed back Oslo based producer Frantzvaag to express the “fuck reality” sentiment through four lush cuts of classy Norwegian deep house. Having premiered an understated little groover (Saile - ‘What I Feel’) from the other Smallville offshoot Down By The Lake last week, it’s fair to say we’ve fallen victim to the label’s emotional pull. Hailing from Hamburg, Smallville prides themselves on a coherent yet eclectic aesthetic, manifested in everything from eccentric artwork from illustrator Stefan Marx to memorable sloganeering, and of course the signature sound of shimmering deepness. Naturally, the Fuck Reality releases are no exception: EPs that are quirky and refined all at once.

Fuck Reality 05 is as exceptional and varied as we dreamed it would be, a credit to Frantzvaag who has been increasingly noted in the Oslo scene. Frantzvaags music breathes life into the dancefloor, sanding down the traditional Chicago deep house sound with crush filled samples and lush pads. Deservingly, his debut EP, Fuck Reality 03 yielded support from reputed names like Session Victim, Move D, and Jacques Renault. Something tells us that this EP will do the same.

Following releases on Let’s Play House, Freereange, Madhouse and House Puff, Austrian DJ, producer and label head @Demuja has compiled his debut album consisting of an eclectic batch of 20 tracks. Titled 'Hidden Paradise', the album is set for release on his own MUJA imprint and showcases the versatile sound profile Demuja has become known for, with tracks touching on the essence of house, soul, disco, funk and hip hop.

Here Mixmag delivers the exclusive premiere of 'Mr Jazzy Wung', a swinging house anthem complete with grooving horns, warm piano and a bumping bass line to make it primed for the dancefloor.

NYC-based producer Will DiMaggio returns to the Future Times imprint to deliver his debut album titled 'At Ease', which includes the dreamy house cut 'Steppin W Friends'.

Recorded during 2016 and 2017 in Queens alongside roommates DJ Python, Anthony Naples and the Exotic Dance crew, the album features a collection of eight tracks showcasing DiMaggio's keen sense of dance music. He touches on dizzy street beats and live keyboard action to reveal a hybrid of techno, jazz(tronica) and deep house, all with a psychedelic approach. These are delicate and carefully constructed sonic excursions, making DiMaggio one to keep an eye on moving forward.

Berlin based XXXY starts his latest label adventure with Sour Edits after a successful volume first release from himself a few months back, volume 2 is hot on its heels and will undoubtedly follow in the same direction, definitely a label to look out for this year. SOUR002 belongs to Marcin Krupa, the astronomical tapes label boss provides a perfect addition to the new sour edits line up with this smooth 3-track EP. Each track is uniquely impressive in its own way; the polish sample wizard perfectly creates three euphoric bangers, prepare to be taken on an emotional journey.

We have the pleasure of premiering the first track on the release, ‘Jazz with some house elements’. This Jazz-infused rhythmic weapon is everything we love here at bolting bits and is a stand out track in the EP. Marcin does wonders with the unique melody as it swirls around in a haze of house lushness, but another element I have to bring attention to is the brilliant percussive drums playing looping around tying the whole thing nicely together. If you monitor the house music scene coming out of Hong Kong, a name that you've probably heard of before is Romain Fx. For the past 10 years or so, Romain has been a key innovator in the HK scene, spearheading fresh concepts such as Roofest, the island's first rooftop festival and organizing monthly parties called ROAM in which he brings international artists such as Jayda G, Move D, Habibi Funk, Demuja to the city. Even if you're not too familiar with what is happening over that part of the world, you might even recognize him from his extensive touring in Europe, where he's played alongside the likes of Breakbot, Classixx, Kaytranada, College, Kolombo, Gigamesh, LNTG, FKJ, and many more.

In his latest effort, the French musician sets out with his Los Angeles brethren of Fantastic Voyage to release a collection of edits ranging from afro house to obscure disco cuts. The tune we're premiering for you guys today is an edit of Kamzu's song Indaba Kabani, which came out of South Africa during the early 90s. For those who love the original, you'll be happy to find out that RFX pays a lot of respect to it; choosing not to alter the original in a dramatic fashion. Instead, RFX simply makes it a tool that can easily be incorporated in DJ sets for you and me to unleash on the dancefloor! He's truly doing God's work here and we thank him for it.

Our next premiere comes to you from rhythm section aficionado Contours. After the much acclaimed Loose Wood EP back in 2016, North West is the Manchester Producer’s second release for Shall Not Fade. North West is brimming with all the delicacies we have come to expect from a Contours EP:  jazzy rhodes chords, tasty sax licks, and incredibly intricate polyrhythmic drum patterns.

Our choice cut from the EP is the title track, North West. The track opens with an airy repeating trumpet line that slowly rises much like the morning fog, as shimmering bells begin to sway around in the mix like a brisk gust on wind chimes. This eventually gives way to an entrancing conga pattern that pitters and patters like rain drops on a roof. Eventually a 2-step kick comes in and adds even further bounce to the track. On North West, Contours showcases his unique ability to fuse jazz and afro-beat influences into a pulsing thought provoking journey through a misty and grayscale terrain. When it comes to seriously good disco chuggers or edits, it’s fair to say that Orlando’s Sleazy McQueen, head honcho of Whiskey Disco and it’s sublabel Lovedancing, has the Midas touch for quite some time. Each and every record he decides to put out turns to solid black gold. Bolting Bits had an absolute pleasure to premiere tracks from two of the previous Lovedancing releases: LD03 which featured Tel Aviv’s underground beacons Rabo & Snob and LD06 which came from a French producer Closed Paradise and included masterfully crafted remixes from Texan The Silver Rider and Detroit’s Pontchartrain. It looks (and hears) like gold was struck yet again with the latest Lovedancing output. This time Sleazy is introducing Dagfest, a producer duo from Sweden’s capital city of Stockholm.

With previous releases on Ben Davis’ Paperecordings, Montreal’s Editorial records and UK’s ISM records, Dagfest should’ve found the place in the hearts and minds of cosmic funk aficionados. The latest offering from a duo comes as a 4 track vinyl with 2 original compositions and 2 remixes from NYC’s Superior Elevation Records boss Tom Noble and from Lovedancing CEO Sleazy McQueen himself.

Today Boltings Bits are happy to premiere the A1, title track of the release. “Falling in Love” is laden with funky guitars, catchy synths and a soulful vocal about one of the most beautiful feelings on Earth. “Dagfest” stands for day party in Swedish, but we are convinced that rather uptempo beat of this groover will surely provide enough charm and energy to stir and move dancefloors around the globe no matter whether it’s day, or night. Get your dancing shoes ready!

The great city of Amsterdam is a place rich in culture and beauty and is especially true when it comes to electronic music. De Dam boasts talent on all fronts – home to huge festivals such as Dekmantel and ADE as well as the prominent record store, Rush Hour. Hidden deep in the cities veins is another treasure in the form of Bordello A Parigi, a record store come label sitting pretty in Oudezijds Kolk releasing and distributing outstanding music since 2011.

Next out the oven for Bordello is a gorgeous 3-track masterpiece from Berlin-based duo, Longhair. Marko and Bene have curated a distinctive sound for Longhair seemingly inspired by the electronic sounds of the 80s and more specifically similar synth driven influences that came from Italy in the 1990’s.

Following theme for their debut EP with Bordello is a synth-rich masterpiece with that Italo touch as mentioned earlier, all the while complimented by powerful kick drums and broad bass that cutting through at lightening velocity. Our undisputed favourite of the release goes to ‘Bunny’, blissful gem starting out with that all familiar bellowing kick before being quickly joined by a dancing synthline full of funk and life. Longhairs exceptional percussion-work perfectly ties the whole thing together to create a soundscape able to uplift and destress anyone at any time. This EP is an example of why we get excited every single time we get wind of a Bordello A Parigi release, be sure not to miss out on Longhair’s fantastic debut EP.

Our next premiere comes from DJ Moonbeam, and is the first drop on SITU, a newly formed Lobster Theremin sub-label. DJ Moonbeam has been known to craft hazy cuts that drift through different shades of the Deep House spectrum. Apus De Soare showcases the producers evolving sound and ability to create tunes that are as apt for the dancefloor as they are for the home. 

Our fave is the title track Apus De Soare. It’s a slow burner with massive filter swoops and stabby chord rhythms. As the track progresses, you feel yourself leaving dancefloor as you ascend out of orbit and into space. Cosmic waves of arpeggiated synths find their way careening the mix, while the thumpy bassline steadies the ship throughout its voyage. Moonbeam has honed an eclectic palette of Deep House sounds and distilled it into something uniquely his own.
