Coming in direct from Hackney, we have the honor of hosting British duo @Kassiansound for our next Mixed By. They’ve put together an insanely groovy mix of soulful, jazzy house for us and it’s just what you need to soundtrack your next dance. The duo comprised of Warren Cummings and Joe Danvers have been putting out belters on labels such as Phonica White, Shall Not Fade and Heist Recordings since 2019. Kassian’s career got off to a flying start, with the title track from their debut EP ‘The Premise’ garnering a track of the year nomination by Gilles Peterson. They’ve since put out several stellar EP’s with this years ‘Crush’ on Shall Not Fade being the most recent.

Kassian have been very busy in the studio, they’ve also done a thumping remix of Nebraska’s ‘Dip and Flip’ on the latest edition of @Heistrecordings ’s notorious Round Up series. ‘The Round Up Part VII’ (released on March 12th) is packed with slamming remixes from a huge cast of big house names.  We're glad to have them today for our new MIXED BY series.

Our man of the moment @jesse-bru steps up for this week's guest mix with some big House energy. It's safe to say we bloody love Jesse's sound... So much so that we've released a sun soaked new single called Yellow Sunshine Machine from our Dancing With Friends Vol.2 compilation as well as taping him up for a remix on Soul Wun's Fragments EP all released in the space of a few weeks!?
Expect big things from him forthcoming on SB too... Real dancefloor bombs for the heads only!

As we move through the year, the time comes for another addition to the Selected Timbres guest to showcase the goods. This month I had the pleasure of welcoming co-owner of D.KO Records, Flabaire. Through my exploration of the musical landscape I discovered the Parisian artist and his label and immediately fell in love. Not only his he producing top tier deep house tunes, he recently started a band called Aboukir which focuses on the more somber melodies in alternative styles (WHICH I LOVE).

Every time I've had any interaction with Flabaire, there was nothing but mutual respect and kindness shared between us, and I've really loved supporting his music and the label. With this in mind, I was super happy to have him on as a guest for my series, and as always, feel free to ask for any ID's in the comments! Happy listening :)

It’s no longer news to anyone that Australian electronic music propelled itself to international spotlight in recent years. There is an infinite array of up and coming talent emerging from down under. Amongst them are the dynamic duo of DJ Sarah and Georgia Bird, known as In2stellar, whose collaboration started in 2017. 

Their energetic sets influenced by 90s dance music, fusing gritty breaks, UK bass and proggy bass lines are a candid insight into their true selves that we are pleased to discover through this insightful conversation.

Through his productions on Rhythm Section, Studio Barnhus and his own elusive white label series Tartan, he’s become a hit machine responsible for elevating dancefloors everywhere.
