We know house music has always been made from the heart and for the floor. Whilst Loure's music adheres to this hackneyed creed, it exists beyond simply the confines of one genre. His jazz-infused, house cuts have previously found homes on labels such as Delicieuse Musique, Apparel Music, and Slothboogie. An oscillating live performer, Loure can be found in the middle of a flurry of hardware for his solo live shows, behind the platters for his DJ sets, or conducting a full live band setup that is riddled with brass, guitars, keys, and infectious improvisation.

Marking a slightly new direction for the young up-and-comer, ‘Outta 106’ is made up of 6 soulful collaborations between Loure and some of Melbourne's best-kept secrets -surfacing the stunning talent and beauty that is the Melbourne underground. The intro track ‘Comin Thru’ opens with lush and sweeping strings, blended with a sultry horn line that leads to rich and tempered vocals, warming your soul and guiding you through to the following track. Without hesitation ‘Rotate’ drops into a swinging 4/4 groove, accompanied by classy sax melodies, uplifting piano, and soulful vocals that together build into a thumping house cut, filling your heart and the floor. Moving deeper into the release, ‘Curbside Glow’ maintains the momentum - opening with an infectious guitar riff that dances over the top of smooth jazz keys, expressive and emotive vocals eventually steal the light to form a track that's only intention could be to make you feel. Flipping to the B side 'The Walk Home' introduces a slightly new direction, with delicate keys and a complex DNB style beat, the standard is matched with luscious strings and a burning sax solo that drives listeners into the deeper side of the release. 'Heavyweight Sinner' stays focused with another UK Jazz style cut, keeping the groove solid with a broken-beat, lulling melodies are complimented by warming guitar, the track peaking with an impressive bass solo. Closing things out, 'Talking Circles' rounds off the release with elevating ambiance, emotive strings, and one final burst of soaring brass to create a euphoric and memorable ending to what is a stunning EP.  Loure ‘Outta 106’ drops via Nothin Personal on 17th July 2020.

It was an opportunity to escape and rejoice in the reckless freedom and carelessness of the great beyond. Some called him selfish as he danced by himself, oblivious to the shouts and conversations of others. What use were they here? What use were they to him? The great beyond called out with all he needed for the night and a lifetime to come. 

Matthieu Faubourg is set to release a house tinged EP on Strctr, an elegant, sophisticated, melodic affair which is tied up in a perfect package by Frits Wentink and Leo Pol. This one has been on regular rotation already and comes highly recommended.

2XM deliver ‘Floating Desire / Between Spaces’ via London’s Eton Messy Records this December, featuring two originals from the hotly tipped duo.Recent times have seen 2XM unveil a string of material via the likes of Russian imprint Sengiley and GLBDOM amongst forthcoming material on Svnset Waves and other self- released material. Here though we see the pair deliver their latest two-track project via Eton Messy Records, the YouTube channel turned record label which has played host to material from the likes of DJ Counselling and Sly One amongst others.Up first on the package is the cinematic ‘Floating Desire’, laid out over six minutes with bumpy 2-step drums, intricately evolving sub bass tones and ethereal atmospherics at its core. Further emotive touches come via an amalgamation of hypnotic vocal hooks and twinkling keys which ebb and flow their way throughout the composition.‘Between Spaces’ follows next, this time round tipping the focus over to classic deep house tropes. Employing organic percussion and choppy bass stabs to fuel the groove while warm chord sequences, plucked synths, acid licks and delayed keys keep things dynamically evolving.
