Having established itself with EPs from Duke Slammer and DMX Krew, Dublin's Modern Magic welcomes Bari's Armonics for the label's third release.  A trained pianist and resident DJ/curator of the We Talk event series in his home city, Armonics draws influence from electronic music across the past 40 years: Chicago & acid house, italo- & electro-disco, new wave, synth-pop and vaporwave. 

His 'Italowave' style is a fusion of these retro-futuristic and cosmic styles, forged through Armonic's production processes which include cassette recordings, vintage synths & modern Korg/Roland gear.  The 'Look Alive' EP is the producer's second release, following a debut on Slow Motion in late 2016.

Accompanying the EP's three original tracks is an anthemic, piano-led remix of 'Red Eye' by International Feel act Black Spuma, aka Lauer (Tuff City KIds/Arto Mwambe) and Fabrizio Mammarella (Telespazio).

B1. Armonics - Red Eye (Black Spuma Remix)

A kite is a tethered heavier-than-air craft with wing surfaces that react against the air to create lift and drag. A kite consists of wings, tethers and anchors. Kites often have a bridle and tail to guide the face of the kite so the wind can lift it. Kites is also the title of the premiere by Zurich Dada.
The track takes us back to the darkest depths of the retro future from Zurich Dada a Portuguese Synth Pop duo who take inspiration from quantum physics and the multiverse theory as much as they do from Depeche Mode or the Human League the track itself reinvented reworked and reconfigured by Anbau, the Catalan stalwart of Aspecto Humano.
In a kicking rewiring with a gorgeous vocal performance, tough drums, melodic analogue synths in a digital age. This is going to fly.

PREMIERE | Zurich Dada - Kites (Anbau Remix) [Aspecto Humano] 2018

Created and recorded by hordes of sweaty musicians, a handful of talented producers plus a bunch of skilled studio engineers. Edited and adjusted by some Berlin based Belgian (A2 and B1 with the help of a Swede) for maximum disco dancing delight. “Fuifnummers” is Dutch for “party starters” and that’s exactly what you get. This one comes with added intros for double copy beat juggling fun!

Donald Dust's new offering arrives courtesy of London's Claptrap label and will be distributed by Berlin’s flagship record store Oye. “Fluorescent Music” EP blends the best bits of early mid-80’s Chicago House; the melodic side of The Hague's late 90s and early 2000s sound shaped by the likes of I-f and Intergalactic Gary; and also there are palpable hints of early experiments in Italo Disco. We couldn’t think of a better blend of sounds and styles ourselves!

Today Bolting Bits are premiering B1 track from the release titled “Rescue ships approaching”. Kudos to Donald for a really nice work on the drums and percussion, but this time the rhythmic part of the track will have to hold the candle for the synths. The arpeggiated line rolling almost throughout the track will surely get you hooked and cosmic pads and stabs with other synthesized melodic elements will transport you deep into interstellar space. PREMIERE: Donald Dust - Rescue Ships Approaching

Duro ejects into the second part of the year with Berlin-based producer Etcha delivering his sophomore release on the Mexican imprint; an astronomical adventure entitled ‘Confucius Says’. These 2 new exciting original cuts are filled with inter-planetary bleeps and grandiose pads, that along with remixes from Marvin & Guy and Bird Of Paradise make an outstanding pack for the late-night record spinner. Currently at the forefront of a new generation of Berlin producers, Etcha has also appeared on labels such as his own Exoplanets, Voll Schön, and more. 

The trip starts with “Confucius Says”, where a mystical, astral melody synth carries us along with a muffled Italo bass, as if we were traveling across a dense nebulae of sound on board of a retro-futuristic spaceship piloted by small green mysterious creatures on glittering space suits. Bird of Paradise takes this to paranoiac territories: an insistent, rolling bass makes us realise that moment where we have landed in a strange, remote planet, while danger seems just ahead us. 

“Operation Oskar Panizza”, the second original track, prepares us for battle. The snare-propelled-guitars are our weapons against the fatigue derived by a night full of wonders and chuggy basslines. At the end of the expedition, Marvin & Guy brilliantly push us into a new arpeggiated journey, right into the middle of the after-hours galaxy.

FREE DL: Night Moves - Transdance (Club Bizarre Edit)

After the sold-out first edition of Correcciones, Mexican label Calypso returns with Volume 2 of the series, unveiling four strong contenders for Edit of the Year. Starting things off, Calypso co-label boss Thomass Jackson has his way with a weirdo Polish jazz/fusion/funk track that keeps turning left while continually finding the right direction. 
Russian label regulars Simple Symmetry join forces with co-label boss INigo Vontier to deliver a "monster peak-time mantra" that's as perfect for morning rites as it is for nocturnal adventures. 
On the B-side, New York's Facets slows down the tempo of an old goa gem - the result has already gotten support from the likes of Intergalactic Gary, Alexis Le Tan and many others.
Volume 2 closes out in the hands of Italian dandys Marvin & Guy, who offer a magnificent take on a forgotten disco classic. 
Timeless edits indeed.

With the first release of OPW001, On Point Worldwide Records are proud to uncover the memoir of Hong Kong based French producer -  Romain Fx. An outstanding musician that quite a few years ago planted a seed that through the years of event experiments and music excavations flourished into the “Kimokeye EP” influenced by the grooves of African melodies, raw vocal snippets with a final touch of uplifting variety of FM synths. With a spicy addition of a darker progressive side to the title track, remixed by Jack Priest.

Claptrap’s first release of 2020 comes from Longhair, a Berlin based project formed of two Renate residents Marko Pelaic (Homeboy) & Bene Bogenberger (1/2 of Peak & Swift). The release follows on from their 12" on Renate Schallplatten last year, alongside a previous EP for Bordello A Parigi and remixes for PBR Streetgang’s new imprint.

The Heatwave EP features 3 floor-ready original tracks plus a remix of the title track by Johannes Albert (Frank Music, Fine).
The final cut ‘Pizzamouse' a more relaxed slice of melodic house sees the release out in style with dancing rubbery synth lines which is sure to get those feet moving.

The waves rolled in heavily but he was not afraid, for he was in love with the ocean and the murky depths. He could taste the saltwater in his mouth as the sun beamed down upon him from the heavens above. Soon he would be home... 

Joe Morris reminds us that it's summertime on a new EP for Shades of Sound. A sun kissed affair with balearic sensibilities bound to leave a smile on your face and a longing for warmer climates.

'The Cruising's two cool customers, Yula Vovk and Sergei Demidov, make a remarkable return to Whiskey Pickle, and this time around on the label's vinyl department. Even as Russians their original tune 'Dispassion' has an NYC underground retro-futurism. Their blues vocal sampler, impressive bassline, and impeccable drum programming conjure an Arthur Russell guitar fascination and a cosmic disco weirdo Balearic rhythm exploration.

Malinovsky's version is centered on a dusty deeper affair. The result is a soft percussive, melancholic remix with a darker synth-scape and intensely psychedelic Eastern echoes.

Rune Lindbæk's talent and versatility completes the space between duets undefined DIY disco and house's general spectrum. His mix is a mesmerizing Balearic house reflection of the original. The Phil
Harding-wise rhythm supported by an atmospheric trumpet and original's strings escapism.'
