Adham Zahran isn’t just another name in house music, he’s one of those producers who seems born to it. Hailing from Egypt and growing up in Alexandria, young Adham began his musical journey listening to lots of minimal and house before learning production and music theory. His sound is steeped in an affection for house in all its shades and his musical influences resonate mainly from the Detroit culture and sound. Artists like Kyle Hall, Theo Parrish and Marcellus Pittman.

Our top pick is"Upturn",  first up on the flip-side and a track you'll recognise if you tuned in to the Copenhagen edition of our Where I'm From video-docu series, where we followed Tartelet label head, Emil (aka Muff Deep) around his home turf. Greymatter, real name Graham Luckhurst, took a little break after his previous album 'Visions' was released on WOLF Music in 2014, a label that he helped form the foundations of, alongside artists Medlar and KRL. His hiatus, which we assume was spent producing and gigging, was ended by a single released on WOLF's '7 Years, Who Cares' record followed by some remixes and singles on his own imprint Unique Uncut. Now, he has announced a third full-length album "No Blood Without", which will have a limited run of 300 vinyl copies and 30 cassettes.

With years spent co-running lauded Mr. Bongo, it's no wonder Luckhurst's music draws on a wide variety of influences. Listening to all sorts of genres and styles, his eclectic taste comes from his love for digging. One thing that stands out in most of his own productions, though, is the groove, something he always searches for whether it be through sampling, writing his own or re-creating. Loose rhythms are something not every producer can get down, yet Graham is able to keep those swung grooves somewhat tame and danceable. The new album has plenty of these and more, from housier jams to broken beats to more downtempo material, Greymatter shows his versatility and his love for sampling and lo-fi sonics.

Today, we're happy to bring you the premiere of the second track on the album 'Burning 4 U'. A tambourine groove and moody chords open up this cut, with rather spooky atmospheres resonating in the background. A pitched female vocal with the song's tagline comes into the fray just before the booming low-end of the kick announces the real beginning. Clinking high end percussion carries the rhythm from here on into the break where the track gets even eerier with a sinister sounding synth line and echoing percussion, before coming back full swing with all the combined elements into the climax of the tune. Definitely a late night stomper reserved for dance floor destruction.

We have the pleasure of premiering the remix of Jus Tadi’s track “Love Like Glove” by the Berlin-based Spaniard Carlo. The remix will be featured along with two other tracks on Jus Tadi’s next EP of the same title.

Carlo took all of these elements from the track and integrated a percussion heavy groove, a solid bass line, well placed breaks accompanied with a kick that builds the track into a dancefloor ready dig. Carlo definitely brought a nice funky touch with his use of breaks in the the track which makes you groove all along it's play.

Jus Tadi’s “Love Like Glove” EP (including Carlo’s remix) will be released on July 21st on the Spanish label Sub_Urban.

Hans Peeman, perhaps better known as Junktion or as one half of Fouk with label mate and friend Daniel Leseman, also has another side project. New Franklin Theory is his lesser known alias, one focusing a bit less on sampling and more on melodic explorations, with a lot more synth work and instrumentation. He's only released under the moniker once before, a 2 track 10" on his own native Outplay Records that perhaps went a little bit under-appreciated. Now he's back once again on the label with a 5 track mini album of sorts, entitled "Chemical Boogie", to really showcase what he can do.

Peeman's signature percussion is perhaps best heard on the opener, Andromeda Beach, a funk and boogie fuelled jam that's closest to what we've come to know him for. Our premiere today and the A2 on the record, Homeward, features some fantastically spacey cosmic pads and a rumbling bass, lending it a bittersweet, introspective sound. Closing off the first side of the record is Afterburner, an uptempo groover with some addictive synthesized horn-like melodies. Ladies and gentlemen, we have liftoff.

On the flip, the B1, In Orbit, takes you for a ride. The funky bassline and deep rhodes chords paired with the interplanetary atmospheres and effects do the title justice. Finally, The Holtzman Effect, named after a fictional scientific phenomenon, caps off the EP with a hooking subterranean bass that sends you wiggling your butt straight into alien territory.It's refreshing to see a producer so well known for a particular sound continue to explore new avenues and evolve as personal tastes change and mature, but still retain some of that flavour that made his music so irresistible in the first place.

Fast becoming the golden boy of a new generation of broken beat producers, @Ddanvers, shows no signs of slowing up with this latest release on Boogie Café. Awash with jazzy keys, dreamy synths and tight percussion work, this offering provides the perfect soundtrack to kick back to, beachside, drink of choice in hand.

Desire EP flaunts four cuts of soulful broken beat tinged deepness, with this premiere's 'Someone To Count On’ delivering a crunchy, late night, soiree coupling a full bodied bass synth, crushed up drum hits and sleazed out pads. Heaters a plenty on this one, taking Danvers one step closer to world Danvination.

The guys at @Boogie-Cafe-Records are also throwing a party on October 20th at The Crofters Rights in Bristol. Danvers himself will be headlining with support from Boogie Cafe DJs.
