As the settled dust lay bare on the road to uncertainty. Out of the mud the Planet Sundae label springs back from a two-year hiatus, presenting the feverous Florentine ..... DJ Blasy for its next cone.

Quantasoma is inspired by The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard. Set in a future where the ice caps have melted and the rising oceans have submerged so much of the inhabited world. A new nature has formed here, and cities have become primeval swamps. Humans are now in rapid decline as giant lizards, dragonflies and insects thrive.

The music on this record looks to describe this new world, and unlike the book where the story is told from a human perspective, the point of view here is shifted to the eyes of nature. What for humans is a dystopian future, for the natural world it is an insignificant change. Emotionless and detached, these processes carry on regardless of what is happening, like photosynthesis in the quantasomes.

This release comes in a full-colour artwork by Berlin-based artist Olya Bazilevich with the vinyl on a limited run of 150 copies. The digital release is fitted with a bonus track.

All tracks are written and produced by Filippo Blasi-Foglietti.

Dark times are always followed by the bright ones. This spring the sky turns blue and sun comes from behind the clouds with this beautiful rework by the Air Miles resident Remotif (UK) of a collaboration between Kito Jempere and Maajo, a band based in Tampere, Finland, who are famous for their rare tropical breeze from the cold north. Exclusive: Kito Jempere - Every Minute Is Too Late ft. Noteless (Fango Remix)

Hailing from St. Petersburg Kito Jempere has shared a carefully selected amount of his own music with his followers via his self-titled label, amongst the most recent releases was his ironically named LP Yet Another Kito Jempere Album. Taken from the latter and actually also the closing track of the November-released LP, Every Minute Is Too Late feat. Noteless underwent the Degustibus mainstay remix treatment from Fango. The Italian artist turned the track into a proper peak-timer waiting to be played out. Starting with harmonically intertwining chords making the track come in like a slowly flowing river passing the valleys in the mountains, Fango's remix becomes a wild major river that issues into a waterfall shortly after Noteless' vocals 'Mystery these days is gone' are absorbed by the water and are transformed to create a completely different tone and vibe. 

Every Minute Is Too Late feat. Noteless (Fango Remix) will be released on Kito Jempere Records on May 7th, 2021.

The sun streamed through the windows, promising a good day ahead. Life had become much simpler since she moved out into the countryside; no commute, no late nights at the office, no external pressures... Her priorities had changed, and with that her mood followed. Now she took pleasure in the small things; she celebrated the little wins; she always saw life as a delight.

It was 2018 when DJ and certified party starter CC:DISCO released the inaugural edition of her 'First Light' compilation into the world. It put a spotlight on talent coming out of her home turf of Australia—the likes of Sui Zhen, Nite Fleit, Jace XL and Angophora all featured. This is still true of the second iteration, which is set for release on 7th May, but this time she extends this to other countries across the world, highlighting prolific, upcoming and unsung artists from the likes of Russia, Zambia, Japan Sweden and many more. Sonically moving between house, trance, Balearic, disco and jazz, she compiles a whopping 24 tracks from names that already are, or will soon be, firmly on your lips, including Manami, Escape Artist, Jenifa Mayanja, Munir and Regularfantasy.

Byron the Aquarius (aka Byron Blaylock), an accomplished keys player as much as he is a producer, has a deep love for the organic side of music. This shines through in his creations, back to his debut EP in 2007. More recently, Blaylock’s skillful jazz beats have found a home on the one and only Jeff Mills’ Axis Records. From his birthplace in Birmingham Alabama, Blaylock has grown into an international figure of acclaim for his explorative compositions. 

Already having two successful EPs with Shall Not Fade under his belt - most recently marking the labels’ 50th release with What Up Doe? Vol.2 - Byron the Aquarius returns for a gorgeous double LP. Expect the smoothness of deep house, melodic instrumental hip hop production of the J Dilla creed along with tight jazz pieces.

The New Beginning LP showcases range and expertise from the off, exploding with pulsing discordant jazz in ‘Amaya’s Voyage’. Psychedelic g-funk is the MO of ‘Smoke One For Huckaby’, before a B-side milieu of jazz and hip hop reminiscent of Guru’s Jazzmatazz. The album settles into a deep groove across its C-side, the highlight of which is the percussive workout of ‘Underground Was Black’, complemented delicately with dazed pads and buoyant but smokey lounge jazz sounds in ‘Cosmic Jazz’. Off kilter hip hop shines through in ‘Last Time We Gonna Do This’ and its eclectic sound palette, then we are blindsided by the heavy electro distortion of ‘The End Of The World’. The record closes with a collaboration of the genres explored throughout, pieced together into the pumping ‘Lost People of Tron’. The album feels like a lap of honour around all the influences in Byron The Aquarius’ sound - it’s yet another artistic triumph.

Brooklyn-based producer M.Vaughan has spent the better part of a decade crafting emotional electronic music.

His productions on labels like Freerange, Monologues, and his own Super Tuff merge warped synthesizers, simple melodies, and raw percussion into a fresh take on dance music, catching the attention of tastemakers like Laurent Garnier, Jimpster and Axel Boman.

His debut album, True Life, which lands on Super Tuff on February 5th , explores every genre from ambient to house and breaks with impressive cohesion. Taking its name from a phrase Vaughan and his older brother coined in their grade school years, meaning “I swear,” True Life is a ten-track diary told through synthesizers, samples, and drum machines.

The album naturally separates itself into two parts—a warm, organic opening and a cold, electronic close. “Softly” perfectly encapsulates the coziness of the album’s first half. Composed of delicate piano, dusty drum breaks, and layers of live guitar, the tune builds from a simple beat into a triumphantly melancholic anthem, reminiscent of Amygdala-era DJ Koze.

On the opposite end, “Timshel” is the hard-nosed standout of the back half. Inspired by a night at Berlin’s Griessmühle, the track’s foundation rests on an electro drum pattern, providing a mechanical backdrop as a synth stab rises ominously into the foreground.

With no 4/4 kick in sight, an overdriven breakbeat arrives two minutes in, launching the tune into the stratosphere leaving the listener in a dizzying headspin with an aftertaste similar to Shed or Photek.
