The enigmatic Timelock producer steps up for the third release of the Amsterdam label Late Night Burners.

Driven by a vision of presenting warm, intruiging dance music, the vinyl only label has rapidly become one to watch in their debut releases. Moods flirt between the golden era of tech-house and slick breakbeat flavours, meandering through deep moods frothing with groove.

The label ran by DJs and producers Kurley, Roman Coskun, and Marco Man aims towards building a community within its ranks, inviting artists for repeat releases to express the collective vision. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Scott Young’s music traverses a wide sonic palette, encapsulating leftfield dance music, musique concrete, experimental film soundtracks and lush ambient excursions.
Following a noteworthy appearance on Samo DJ’s Born Free imprint, a series of accomplished releases on Discos Capablanca and a mesmeric contribution to the 2019 Opal Tapes compilation ‘Amateur Vampires’, Young returns with his most significant output to date.
Comprised of five tracks that work towards different styles, ‘Ket City’ is intended as an intimate ode to the United Kingdom, and a response to the oppression of algorithmically filtered modernity and the drudgery of work. Diving into hypnotic, artfully fractured dancefloor movements, dub-dilated drum workouts & heavy-lidded ambient zones, ‘Ket City’ is a diverse prospect that nevertheless reveals the execution of a unique signature.
A cerebral, tranquilised, escapist trip that channels ambiguity and positivity in equal measure, and evokes the influence of Mille Plateaux, Wordsound, Mark Fell and Matt Steel’s SND project as well as contemporary operators like Huerco S and Madteo.

Pressure Dome welcome in the new year with their second vinyl direct from the test-bed, a split EP showcasing two rhythmically focused beat-architects; Joe Craven and Human Resources. 

Following a head-turning debut release on Scuffed Recordings, Joe Craven delivers two more imaginatively designed polyrhythmic workouts. Airy, distant pads and delicate percussion roll over driving kicks, giving ‘Hurt Potential’ its detailed futuristic landscape while ‘Dyeus’, with its high tempo distorted breaks, chopped vocals and distant piano riffs takes us to an altogether more abstract space. 

On the flip, Human Resources takes us forward in his own singular style with the thunderous ‘Shaq Stem Edit’, combining cymbal heavy breaks, huge subs and prodigy like bass leads that mutate with club-shattering velocity, and on to ‘At Tanagra’, where pitching leads and sporadic, wonky mid basslines hold a tough, yet mysterious energy and drive. 

Both enter the Dome with their individual technical form, the perfect additions to our collective of phonic explorers.

We’re bringing you “Morning Routines”, a compilation of introspective tracks by members of the Late Night Burners family. 

Summer is here, and while it’s not the one we’ve hoped for, it still needs a soundtrack for those easy days where everything goes just a tiny bit slower than usual.
