Milanese duo Eternal Love, AKA Edo and Fede, have quickly made a name for themselves through their joyful DJ sets which connect the dots between Balearic, disco and dusty classic house and breakbeat - check their recent mix for us to hear the vibes for yourself. Always bringing that little bit of soul to their musical endeavours, no matter the genre or style, the pair now translate this feeling to their debut release, a four track EP for Mike Who's Planet Trip Records. Originally from Auckland, NZ and now London based Louis Anderson-Rich, known amongst the dance world as Manuel Darquart, makes his return to the inimitable favourite white label Semi Delicious. With two appearances on various artist compilations in the past, and a slew of releases since 2017 on labels including Wolf Music Recordings, Infinite Pleasure and Seb Wildblood’s Coastal Haze imprint – the time has come for Manuel to deliver his unquestionably chic sounds with a larger-than-life Italo-house EP entitled ‘Turbo Shandy’. Tangling the roots of Italo-house from yesteryear with a forward thinking, dynamic approach to his arrangements and mix, Manuel Darquart steps off the precipice with the title track ‘Turbo Shandy’.

A constantly rolling and evolving piece of synth laden ecstasy with reverberating snares and metric hats for an authentic 90’s feel. ‘For You’ follows, a rhythmic groove with Roland toms and crunchy hats setting the stage for swathes of rompler style SFX and a carefully-building progression that brings swirling synth pads and bold lead lines throughout. The percussion-party continues with ‘In The Club At 5am’, a perfect perker to perk up the dance in the wee-hours. Soothing sore rave joints and ecstatic muscles while the sun rises outside; tremulating basslines join cascading chord phrases for a final surge of late night energy.

The EP is closed down with ’89 When Things Were Fine’, a triumphant closing piece that’s joined by a superb remix from label boss Demi Riquísimo. Both combining punchy basses and splashy, immersive drum grooves at contrasting paces, each with their signature touch.

'89 When Things Were Fine

The room was hot and balmy making it impossible to sleep through the entire night, instead she writhed around in a semi-sleepless state. There was something on her mind, it didn't just plague her waking hours, it infiltrated her dreams too. Shaking the anxiety and moving forward was proving difficult, it didn't matter how hard she tried to block it out and bury it way back in her subconscious. Sooner or later somebody would find out the truth - her karma was definitely in the post. 

Manuel Darquart have made a name for themselves with their laidback take on Balearic, house and boogie. EPs for the likes of Wolf Music, Semi Delicious and Childsplay have been the vessels for their creations over the last five years, and now, in what we'd say is something of a match made in heaven, they make their debut on Mike Who's Planet Trip. In The Post is the London-based duo doing what they do best: a hunk of smooth boogie, hot house jams and dreamy Balearic bliss.

Headlights sliced through the inky black, the familiar highway a tempting blur. But tonight, a different rhythm pulsed. A turn onto a forgotten road, dust kicking up like whispered secrets. Stars, a million pinpricks, replaced the harsh glare of streetlights. Crickets chirped a lullaby, the engine a gentle hum. Miles stretched, not towards a destination, but towards a quietude the highway couldn't offer. The long way home, bathed in moonlight, a journey for the soul.
