The stars whizzed and bubbled bright in the distant galaxy. The black hole was dangerously close to the space craft and soon the sky may fall around them. It had never been her intention to enter space but as a girl she had often looked out upon the universe with a strange sense of foreboding and spectacular fascination. Now, a million miles away from home she was frightened and yet at peace. Perhaps it was supposed to be this way. 

Voyage Direct return with more exuberance as they prepare to release an EP from Tracey. Tom Trago's label has been busy recently and this will be their second release of 2017.

Olin has also been producing since 2012 and dropped releases on Argot, Detour, Giegling and God Particle.

His latest effort comes via his own label, Boundary Monument. The ‘TPI’ EP is the label’s second release following his ‘Conne’ EP and features four cuts ranging from moody minimalism to slow-evolving deep house.

‘Thanks Rob’ is one of the EPs thickest grooves. A straightforward journey through layers of esoteric chimes and strings moored by a pounding bassline. The track’s atmospheric swells will leave a dancefloor mesmorised.

KETAMA is a creative collaboration between Nicola Loporchio and Michele Lamacchia. Today we premiere the second track from their debut EP titled Voyage which is to be released on Italian based label Cosmic Rhythm. Cosmic Rhythm state the four-track record was created, " [...] while breathing a tropical breeze in Italy."

"Dreamscapes" is the title of the track we have the pleasure of sharing. The track is Balearic house at its finest. It is a soundscape, which illustrates a warm hazy tropical scene. Warm synths and dreamy high-pitched tones ring away and emanate bird song, the bass line plucks away and percussion drives throughout and lays the groove, so much groove.

As is common in Balearic house music a stringed guitar plays melodies which further the romance and chilled out feel of the track.

This is track would not sound out of place on a dance floor thanks to the energy of the drums and the build-up of space and delay between sections. However, it may be best placed on a long scenic drive in the summer, or perhaps whilst lying on a beach. Wherever you choose to listen it will bring a glimpse of sun and sea and perhaps a memory of a happier and warmer time.

The record is set to be released on 29 January 2019.

Hidden under the veil of anonymity for years, Grant - now known to be Anthony Collins, half of Brooklyn’s revered Frank & Tony and co-founder of Scissor & Thread - has been a game changer in the lo-fi house scene. Pairing classic sounds from Detroit & Chicago house with complex textures and deep soundscapes, he’s created a powerful signature sound of his own. Having put out 6 impressive records under the wing of the Lobster Theremin family and his self-titled Grant offshoot, his partnership with head lobster Jimmy Asquith continues as he marks the second release on Asquith’s new label SITU Records.

Today’s premiere is the A2 off this new venture, titled “Dash”. Things heat up as a moody bassline and 909 beat strut along in good Chicago fashion. As the track breaks down, pads ebb and flow, shimmering, plucky synths breeze in, distant strings echo, and a stuttering vocal emerges. The combination of elements prove effective as they all combine to make the perfect slow-burning groover, perfect for eyes-closed dancing in the morning hours.

Across the Long Game EP, Grant offers up 4 cuts of moody oldschool house, taking us on a journey through the deeper end of things. Though never straying too far from his roots, Grant manages to sound fresh as ever, always bringing new energy to the table. Another buy on sight release from a masterful producer.

Today’s premiere is from the galactic journeyman and cosmic healer E Davd. Davd has been honing his distinctly blissful and euphoric brand of house over the past couple years, most notably with releases on renowned labels Natural Sciences and X Kalay. Stepping up for Blaq Numbers this time around, E Davd has delivered yet another beautiful galactic excursion through the cosmos on his track “Solstice.”

Solstice begins with icy synth arpeggios that shimmer the reflecting winter sunlight. As the meditative synth line progresses, dubby splashes of filtered pads begin to lift the track into orbit. The cozy and contemplative intro gives way to a rollicking bassline that gives the track some thump. The funky bass chugs along in the mix driving the tune, while beautifully crafted synths flutter and glisten along the top end of the mix. It is a track to get lost in. One where you can feel your feet planted and your mind floating. The future is exciting for the young producer, and we look forward to what else is in store from him. Solstice is a strong addition from an ever compelling catalog from Blaq Numbers.

We are excited for today's premiere, coming from Crackazat, the British producer who is based in Sweden. He enchants us with his magical jazzy house sound on his new release 'Magic Touch'. The album includes eight reworked tracks from the Swedish house label 'Local Talk'.

Real name Ben Jacobs, Crackazat is known for a groovy jazz-house fusion sound. Through his early influences of jazz, he developed his sensual feelings for rhythm and swing. This impact quickly gave him the motivation to pick up a guitar and bass to start producing all kinds of music on his own, whether it be in the style of hip hop, jazz or funk. His debut, the release of the synth-funk and downtempo "Explanation" EP in 2012 and then shortly after, the release of a dive into club music named "Tunnel" EP, attracted the attention of DJs all over the world and were global breakthroughs. His relocation in the same year to the Swedish city of Uppsala allowed him to connect with the Swedish house label 'Local Talk' on which he is now releasing the 'Magic Touch' album.

The album includes soulful reworks of names like 'HNNY', 'Terrence Parker', and 'DJ Spinna's' track 'Tie It Up' which is also our Bolting Bits premiere today. A flicking snare on an easy beat with equal light claps, followed by a groovy synth-chord combine to form a super light and joyful mood. This full-time groover is the second track on the oh so soulful and jazzy 'Local Talk' rework album and it awoke a high interest in us to continue listening to the whole album, which is incidentally a very nice piece of music.

The Bolting Bits team can highly recommend getting a copy of the 'Magic Touch' album and we're proud to present Crackazat's new release. We are also glad to support him on his way and are going to be excited to listen to more of Jakob's inspiring jazz fusion sound in the future. Ben Gomori, label head of Monologues Records and Stern Edits, might be one of the busiest men in the industry today. When he's not providing us with the freshest dance music through his two labels, Ben can be seen spending his "leisurely" time hosting podcasts, radio shows, and video series like Turned On, Monologues and RecordReplay. If that wasn't enough, Ben puts on club night fundraisers for Help Refugees and the highly esteemed album listening sessions Pitchblack Playback. We honestly do not know where the man finds the time, but he does.

Given his absurd work rate, we were not surprised to learn back in July that Ben Gomori also produces under the previously anonymous moniker G. Markus. Mr. Gomori's reasoning for starting the project was "[...] to make deeper, freakier, trackier stuff than I was known for under my own name. It was a breath of fresh air starting from a blank canvas and sending music to labels anonymously with no preconceptions, having no social media and so on."

Whether he's releasing music under his own name or G. Markus, one can argue that Ben has a knack for making edits that rivals any of his contemporaries today. And this unique skill is on full display throughout his latest track titled "Red E," in which he takes on an 80's classic. Using the infectious vocal sample as a centerpiece, Ben chooses to pair it with an equally catchy assortment of lively piano house melodies and cheeky synths that are reminiscent of greats like Kerri Chandler.

A surefire way to start any party, DJs and producers alike would be negligent by not adding this chune to their collection. "Red E" along with "Cum Thru" are out today! Get your copy now!

If we're talking about production duos with a stellar reputation, two of the first words from our mouths would be 'Session Victim'. Since 2012, Germans Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling have been at the wheel, steering tunes to magical places. Like Lebron James' time at the Miami Heat, they're a team that won't let you down. 2018 was no different, consisting of international gigs, flipping tracks for the likes of KiNK, Folamour and Nebraska...as well as launching their very own vinyl-only label 'Pen & Paper', in their tenth year as a joint operation. 

The 'Dawn' EP is the first we've heard from S.V in 2019 and like we mentioned above, there was never any doubt it'd be dope! Out through Delusions of Grandeur, this one's on a late-night tilt, with all tracks spawning from their Hamburg studio. We've been gifted the suitably titled 'Hear The Sun' with vocoder expertise from Iron Curtis (give his recent 'Upstream Colour' LP a listen). What's grand about this track is it sounds so Session Victim. At 7:30, 'Hear The Sun' teases over the trip, flirting our ears with a bunch of beautiful instruments. It could be Mexico, Australia or on the shores of Croatia, anywhere in the world that accommodates a beach party can certainly host this number. 

You can get your hot little hands on the EP come February 8th!
