The Lp has been a massive undertaking for DJ Hybrid and the responses to it have been outstanding. The material is musically moving, powerful and guaranteed to resonate with both young and old audience alike. There are tracks that will go down perfectly in the club and are fitting for the airwaves all at once. Even more, the LP is historically relevant as it marks the strong unity between two label heads in the UK & US Jungle, Drum & Bass scene.

PREMIERE: Submerse - Get In The Robot

The studio was empty but for one loner who sat perched by the desk. The room was thick with cigarette smoke and outside the only thing which could be seen through the dusty old window was the occasional flicker and flash of lights from the tenement blocks across the road. It was loud in the room, the music echoed and bumped against dirty old walls.

They were on the top floor, listening to the phone as it began to ring. Soon they would begin to dissect and impart the necessary information so that the night could commence.

This was the midnight hotline, they’d tell you where to go. For those who’d found the number and were prepared to enter the unknown.

Submerse is set to release an EP of rampant rave nostalgia with euphoric breaks and melodies set to do damage to car speakers and big soundsystems alike. This one is for the late night callers.

'Suburban Jungle Rave is the third EP produced by DJ and Producer Mtn9090, which will be released on August 15 2024 by Trinka BR from Porto Alegre/Brazil. In a context where the city is a map defined by labor relations, uncertainty becomes an evil addiction while the rave party is the only moment of liberation from the capitalist clock. Through 06 tracks, the EP translates part of the artist's experience, uniting elements of urban daily life, the metropolitan spirit and broken drums of the classic jungle tracks of the 90s. Astro returns with a high-octane collection of tracks, peaking at the dizzy heights of 138 BPM, engineered for late night club moments and steeped in early 00s/90s influences.  We were fortunate to have Cape Town's own Biodive for a remix, bringing a driving yet minimal sound, effortlessly captivating listeners.

A1, Subatomic, seizes the spotlight with its relentless, driving energy. It immerses us in a 2001 trance soundscape, featuring sharp synth lines and dynamic vocal chops, while echoing, panned stabs enhance the track's deep, otherworldly ambiance.

River Torque, panning UFO pads from a different dimension, shifting gears with precision. A tunnelling groove locks in, firing us straight into peak-time. Direct, relentless, and built for the highest intensity—this one drives everything forward. No escape, just pure momentum.

A3 sees Astro reconnect with his dub-techno origins, pulling in the deep, atmospheric vibes of his early work. Basic Channel-inspired textures are unmistakable, but here they surge. Reverb-soaked layers cascade over a pumping 909, while razor-sharp hats slice through the fog, propelling the track into a hypnotic, futuristic drive.

Wormhole is your go-to for testing low-end limits—bass-heavy, deep, and undeniable. This might be the most floor-shaking, post-pumping Astro track yet. The rich, undying textures crafted from the Blofeld Waldorf deliver sweeping alien FX, creating a soundscape that feels both immersive and extraterrestrial.

Biodive is one of those rare artists who can take a track to another level, almost transcending into another dimension. This remix embodies a minimal yet fierce Detroit sound—stripped down but powerful, hitting with precision and intensity. It’s the perfect choice to close out the EP, leaving a lasting impression with its raw energy and driving beat.

On the imprint’s latest, Oath takes the vibrations right up into the slipstreams via Elfenberg’s latest slice of proggy, euphoria driven excellence….

Elfenberg has become a well known figure within dance music spheres for his expertly crafted and otherworldly chuggy sound. Taking cues from a wide variety of influences, Elfenberg’s music slots in very nicely within the most celebrated of trance laden progressive house and techno - with his signature twist always allowing for a few surprises along the way. Each release he has brought to the fore has provided another string to his impressive bow, fuelling the dance and the emotions with delicate, poised techniques. As much as his tunes are dance floor orientated, his sound has a subtly and deftness to it, an enchanted rhythmic and melodic blend that gives over so much to the listener. His sound ensnares the senses, providing moments to get lost within and moments in which to let yourself go - a music universe that has always remained acutely blended and emotionally poised.

‘Ritmo Paradiso’ contains all of Elfenberg’s signature motifs, but as always it's an EP which spreads itself sonically wide but presents a soundscape which is razor sharp in its focus. The title track swings into view with a deep, pulsating bass and drum loop, which shifts frequency to draw focus to the high hat that slides into the mid section. Acidic flavourings wash over the top of the groove, with the core melodic driver emerging from the mid range. Percussive elements add texture and forward momentum, with slowly evolving pads creating a gentle yet expansive backdrop. ‘Vasastan’ comes next, and this one seeks a different kind of feeling. A spaced out, IDM leaning rhythm provides the basis for a lucid acid line to permeate from side to side. The stage is set for all manner of wondrous melodic features to present themselves, from the flowery keys through to the swelling synths, it's an audial whirlpool in which to get lost over and over again.

It seems with every Elfenberg record, there’s a journey to be undertaken and a tale to be enjoyed, and this one is no different. From the word go, the rhythms are intoxicating, the melodies are otherworldly, and the overall sensation is one of progressive excellence. Always on the move, eager to showcase more, it's a truly tantalising experience - and one that Oath is beyond thrilled to present….
