Everyone’s favourite Swiss production quartet, The Niceguys, return with another irresistible dose of funk in ‘Put Some Love’. Longtime collaborator Bobby Saint again takes on vocal duties, with the LA-based Bermudian effortlessly gliding over a rich tapestry of horns, guitars, and keys, with his signature nu-soul-infused tones. True to form, The Niceguys also showcase their exceptional musicianship, seamlessly weaving live instrumentation into a masterfully produced, rolling funk groove.

I’ve been saying for ages to everyone that would listen ‘I’ve got that on 45’ but no one seemed to care! So to remedy that, I’ve put together this mix of some of my finest 45s & 7s. It's (nearly) 90 mins of funk, hip hop, latin & disco featuring tunes & mixes by Quantic Soul Orchestra, Fort Knox Five, Smoove, De La Soul, Andy Cooper, James Brown, Edwin Star & many more. There’s some of the records that Mr Doris & I have made & released. I've been crate diggings all over the world for years & this is a selection of those little spinny gems. 

The mix isn’t perfect but 45s mixes never are. If you’ve not tried to mix these little suckers together I can honestly tell you’ve they’ve got a mind of their own. Some of them are 50 years old! In fact one on the mix is 55 years old. If you listen closely you can hear the needle skipping on a number of occasions. But it’s these imperfections that give it all character. I very much enjoyed mixing it & I hope you too enjoy the selection…

Big Beat Sundays is back with their first track of the year and this one is a Big Beat Party starter from start to finish. “Freddy Fresh Ate My Hamster” sees the producers Sonale and Crash Party combine their talents to mould this Big Beat belter.
Big beats, horn stabs, Looped vocals, phat bass and cheeky synthesis - All the ingredients for any Big Beat era tune.
With a title such as “Freddy Fresh Ate My Hamster” it would be remiss for this release not to pay further homage to one of the god fathers of Big Beat, by asking the man himself, Freddy Fresh, to remix it. Freddy turns in a slower based bass thumping, latin twisted remix for the connoisseurs out there and we are chuffed to bits with it!
Funky breaks and sample wizard Lebrosk turns in a tasty cut ’n’ paste inspired remix, giving the tracks a lick of his own tasty production style. Finally, to round out the release, there is a Big Beat Sundays remix, tapping into a love of the likes of Mighty Dub Katz and Basement Jaxx to deliver a 4x4 pounder designed for the dance floor.

After the original mix gaining much love and support right across the board including plays on BBC 6 music, this remix is a welcome addition to the 'Boogie' package. Rising Star of the scene WBBL adds his unique style of Bass and Funk into the melting pot with his take of the already classic Shaka Loves You track. WBBL instantly transforms this into a festival ready battle weapon for the summer, adding his insanely high-level production and a good dose of bass to Fullee Love's (aka Soup from Jurassic 5) smooth vocals. The remix was something of a passion project for WBBL. Glasgow funksters Shaka Loves You are riding high right now. Their monstrous single 'Boogie' alongside former Jurassic 5 member Fullee Love (aka Soup) has taken on a life of its own with many labelling it their track of the year. If you add to that their no.1 selling 'Disco Funkin'' compilation, they have set themselves quite a tough act to follow musically. However the new single 'Tonight' manages to deliver the goods and shows just how fast they are developing the Shaka Loves You sound. This time the duo have engaged the vocal talents of Amunda, lead singer from the band Bossy Love, who like SLY themselves are firm favourites with funk aficionado Craig Charles. Amunda's infectious vocal glides delightfully with the guitar hooks and heart-warming keys and the resulting track evokes elements of the Brand New Heavies at the their finest, which in our books is no bad thing. As if that wasn't enough, the boys also deliver the aptly titled 'Disco Weapon', which has been tried and tested in the SLY dj sets this summer and is a total dance floor destroying disco stomper.

Founded in 2004, the simple principal was delivering the funk with engaging music that always rocks the dance floors, regardless of genre. Started by two of the label's key artists, Mooqee & Beatvandals, each release had to be a bomb! This ethos continued throughout the initial vinyl based volume series and as the label evolved alongside the changing digital landscape, helping to develop a global funk and mid tempo scene along the way.

It's crazy to think how much the label has grown and now works with artists and partners from around the globe. Alongside individual artist releases Bombstrike is also home to the much loved Funk n' Beats, Disco Funkin' and Bass Funk compilation series, with guest curators helping the listener discover new music or unearth forgotten classics.
