A side is ‘Welcome (To My Africa)' which immediately kicks off with a sumptuous rolling bass, distinctive hi-hat and rhythmic bongos to draw you in. In an instant, you’re surrounded by layers of African rhythm guitar, sharp brass and woodwind with the most infectious vocal chants. This really is Afro-Funk at its finest. A bouncing, rocking, rhythmic bomb of a track which will fill any dance floor.

This wonderfully constructed EP kicks off with the first track on the A-side - ‘I Don’t Know’. From the get go, this is a slinky, catchy funky number. The warm, all consuming bass line jogs along, aided by subtle guitar riffs that light up the melody. The chugging train suddenly breaks for an outrageous blues vocal - deep growls and female backing singers take control before the track launches straight into the stratosphere. A guaranteed dance floor bomb.

Hot on the heels of Guinu’s modern Brazilian jazz-funk opus Palagô LP, comes an exceptional remix 12” of four standout album tracks. For the A1, Jose Marquez flips the title track into a percussion-heavy and hypnotic Afro-Latin house burner, a masterful future classic of a mix that feels all but destined for late night Louie Vega or Osunlade sets. Faze Action harken back to their early-2000s vibe with their loungey beat-driven reimagining of Haja Fé.

On the flip, RNT stalwart Diogo Strausz takes the angular Electromandinga into the stratosphere, with anthemic synth melodies, rousing bloco percussion and interstellar vocal treatments. Rounding out the EP, well-loved Brazilian producer Carrot Green gives Porão de Ferro an 80s boogie makeover, complete with dubbed out vocals and funky synth bass work over bouncy analog beats.

File Under Disco open the door to the modern Brazilian discothèque with a fabulous release from @Processman and Cady. After an introduction via a mutual friend DJ and producer Processman and solo artist Cady hit it off immediately and started making music the same day. The final piece in this exciting puzzle came when @dicky-trisco was passing through Salvador after playing the magnificent Mareh festival in Bahia. Processman was driving Dicky to a local hot spot in Pelourinho, and the first track he played in the car that night was ‘Adupé’

Dicky was immediately blown away by the track. The second track Processman played was ‘Sou Baiana’ another scintillating musical moment and a record deal was already in the offing and they hadn't even made it to the party yet.

A year later and this divine release is now about to land on @fileunderdisco with remixes from Dicky, Joutro Mundo, Processman and Razor-N-Tape's JKriv.
