As you might have noticed, we do like to share tracks with stories. It might have been forgotten for some time just to arise to the surface at a better point in time and sound better than ever, like in this case.

This track was crafted by the duo BONJ in the outskirts of Stockholm in early 2016 and set to be released on their first ever vinyl release in early 2017 on a favorite label. BONJ were excited as you can imagine but as it happens far to often the release was postponed to late 2017, early 2018, late 2018.. 
You already know where we are going with this. The passion for the project was somewhat lost while waiting and eventually the two pals put the BONJ project on ice, just – of course - to give birth to another one focusing on a slightly different interpretation of electronic music.

Bad luck? Poor choices? Or just mismanaged labels? We have no clue, but we do know the time has finally come for this gem to see the light of day. The two Swedes serve up a laidback house production with that special timeless feel and a groove that truly sticks, and as always it is for free. We think that all of our friends will appreciate this one like we do.

We are honored and excited to present the ‘Drum’n Voice Remixed’ album by the legend Billy Cobham in collaboration with Italian’s finest music producers and composers Novecento. 

Acclaimed as jazz-rock fusion's greatest drummer, Billy Cobham has dedicated his whole life to musical exploration and creative expression. Throughout his career he has collaborated with artists like Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Airto Moreira, George Benson and appeared on over 300 recordings, including icons like Peter Gabriel, Quincy Jones, Jack Bruce, Bob Weir, and James Brown. Cobham’s dramatic, explosive power mixed with emotional spontaneity, extraordinary dexterity, and complex style of play brought him global attention and critical acclaim.  The first album ‘Spectrum’ is a masterpiece and still considered a reference album today. 

‘Drum’N Voice’ is a collaborative project with the Nicolosi family, known collectively as Novecento. After reaching the top of the European and American charts with their Italo Disco hits, they decided to explore new ideas and evolve their music leading to a jazz and ambient territory and collaborating with some incredible artists. 

The album, recorded between Milan, London, Los Angeles and New York, also feature collaborations with incredible artists like Eumir Deodato, Stanley Jordan, Frank Gambale, Gregg Kofi Brown, George Duke, Brian Auger, Bob Mintzer. Billy delivers an amazing creativity and listening experience that unveils its unique style in playing drums and percussions. 
The collection include amazing reworks from Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Danny Krivit, Folamour, S.A.M., Gerd Janson, Khidja, Boris Dlugosch & Cassara, Coeo and Lexx.

Palafico Honey are back with a second EP under their new alias on Editorial Records. 
Bigger Dreaming is a house driven, nu-disco ode which calls back to their first releases as Cappa & Daniel-San, full of their typical funk guitar stabs, swinging basslines and soaring vocal harmonies. 
The four-piece honed the track over two years, split between the studio and the stage, where they enhance their live instrumentation with pads and turntables to add fuel to the fire.
 Two mixes from label mates stretch the band’s idea to the fullest. Editorial boss, Dave Allison, steps up on remix duties to deliver a lower tempo jam, driven by a silky synth bass, while Funk District provides the third mix, a bustling house jam full of Mexican flare.

The eighth chapter of the @Apparel-Wax saga brings with it, as always, a multitude of sounds and suggestions. The masked producer always manages to renew himself, bringing something new and special to each record but always remaining faithful to his musical line. APLWAX008 will be released in January and consists of four tracks: the first is a track with a very marked dynamics and is characterized by a solid rhythm section, a bass line that recalls the UK garage, vocal samples and a beautiful harmonic evolution produced by evolving chords. The second track, A2, winks at Jazz and Soul with a production rich in rhythmic virtuosity, keyboard solos and an almost hypnotic vocal loop while the second side starts with B1, which takes us back to an imaginary dancefloor with a powerful beat and airy disco chords. The EP closes with B2 that softens the tones giving a more intimate, classy and deep end, with references to Funk and R&B. In short, an EP that touches many genres while remaining compact as a whole. Another small masterpiece of production and music selection by Apparel Wax. Out in January 2021, to warm up your winter.
