Le voyage

Dear discoverers, finally I had the honor to play music after a break of 21 months and finally I uploaded the recording to my SoundCloud profile – at least the first half of it. The second one will follow soon. I splitted it because I basically played two sets: one cozy warm-up set to get in the right mood followed by a performance of "Theater Quarantäne" and afterwards we slowly creeped towards peak-time like back in the good old days of the Wüstenzelt.

It didn't really feel like the last time I played at @kabinettderkuriositaeten was 18 months ago. Besides the nice crew that took care of me, every guest that walked by made me feel more comfortable and reminded me why I love this place so much. But one moment in particular reminded me of how hard the current situation has been during the last months and still is for me, for every artist, for everyone in the music and cultural industry and for every other human being too. It was when I played @monkymanmusic's "Acid Love Story" and the lyrics came in:

"Es fällt mir schon nicht leicht einfach jeden Tag auf's neue wieder zu funktionieren.
Gott ich hab die meisten Wunder dieser Welt doch noch gar nicht kapiert.
Doch jetzt haben wir den Planeten für unseren weißen Arsch instrumentalisiert.
Und wir beuten alles aus, alles aus bis nichts bleibt, wofür es sich lohnt.
Bitte mach auf, wach auf, lass uns gemeinsam was probieren."

It really overcame me and reminded me that we shouldn't take things for granted and have to save what we love.

So thank you to everyone who contributed to that beautiful experience and thank you Kabinett der Kuriositäten for creating it and letting me be a part of it by inviting and trusting me with an all-day and -nighter. 🙏 It has definitely made the current situation more bearable and gives me hope that hopefully soon we will be able to live a normal life again – connected through music. ❤️

Soooooooo, here it is: my 4h Katerset. What a freaking milestone. At somepoint in the middle of the set I looked around and realised what was really happening around me. People dancing, yelling, hugging each other, kissing - everything to my musicselection and at this crazy location. @kater_blau, the place so many storys are told about. I guess you could've read it of my face, how overwhelmed I was. I just had this biiiiiiig grin on my face looking like a very happy Honigkuchenpferd. 

Again thanks to all the dancers who made this experience so unique. And of course thanks to the booking  and the people working at Kater for making my stay so enojoyable. The storm came and lit up the sky with lightning half an hour into my set. Thunder and rain pounded down on us and we were evacuated into our cars to wait it out. The music stopped everywhere and people ran for cover. But when the rain suddenly stopped, people started slowly crawling out of their holes and I was able to finish my set after all :)

This is my story at Fusion. I had the honour to open the Sonnedeck stage on Friday 2 PM. 
The first part is a tribute, my ceremony for Bas Engels, founder of Shoeless Festival. Bas recently passed away during an motorcycle accident.
This vibe we created together at Sonnedeck was about the love connection with each other, with the earth and the universe. This feeling was so strong! I want to thank you, Fusion and @3000-grad for giving me this opportunity to play my 3 hour story. LOVE!

Damit die Fusion 2019 gerade in diesem Moment stattfinden kann,  musste der Kulturkosmos und auch wir alle ganz schön kämpfen. Doch für „Die Freiheit der Kunst“ lohnt es sich einmal mehr aufzustehen und seine Stimme zu erheben … denn wir wollen uns unsere Kunst und Utopien nicht wegnehmen lassen.

Den Termin für diesen Podcast haben wir schon länger ausgemacht und er ist ganz zufällig auf den Fusion Termin gefallen. Als Frida und Judith mir dann den Mix geschickt haben, meinten sie „Da er zur Fusion raus kommt, haben wir uns ne kleine Sache überlegt und so eine Art "Fusion Special" gemacht (mit kleinen Pressekonferenz schnipseln am Anfang und Ende).“ Und weil die Fusion 2019 schon jetzt etwas ganz spezielles ist … wurde es auch hier ein Special. DANKE FUSION … Danke Kulturkosmos … Danke Fridi und Judi <3

Allen Fusionisten wünsch ich eine umwerfende und zauberhafte Fusion mit viel Freiheit und Kunst. Und meinen Hörer und allen die nicht auf die Fusion fahren hier nun eine wunderbare Stunde mit Frida und Judith.

Nach der wilden Fahrt sind die Weichen neu gestellt und die Stellwerk Lok verlässt nun, nach einem kleinen Zwischenstopp, in vorerst gemütlichem Tempo den Bahnhof Morgenland.
Alle Passagiere an Bord? Die Bummelbahn rollt los!

Endstation: Lummerland

Auf Zehenspitzen schlich sich unsere heutige Lokführerin, vorbei an den schlafenden Gästen, ganz nach vor ans Steuerrad. Die Sonne steht inzwischen auf ein Uhr und es wird Zeit, die Reise fortzusetzen. 
Schleichend bewegen wir uns entlang der Gleise und werden von süßen Klängen und feinen Stimmen im neuen Tag begrüßt. Die ersten müden Augen erblicken das Tageslicht. Liebevoll, aber mit der nötigen Power weckt uns Forgetti Regretti aus dem Tiefschlaf.

Auf ihrer Fahrt führt sie uns mit seichten Downtempo durch eine wunderschöne Berglandschaft. Die Wiesen strahlen saftig grün, dahinter ragen schneebedeckte Berge hervor. Einmal aus dem Fenster geschaut, kann man sich kaum mehr lösen, vom wunderschönen Anblick, der uns umgibt. Leise Rufe ertönen von Weitem. Eine Gestalt erregt unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Wir folgen ihrem Blick und entdecken die bunten Vögel am Himmel. Flamingos gleiten durch die kühle Bergluft. Für einen kurzen Moment ist es, als fliegen wir mit Ihnen, gemeinsam der Sonne entgegen. Doch lange währt der Zauber nicht. Mit zunehmend schiebendem Sound fahren wir Bergauf ins Vergnügen. So sanft sie uns geweckt hat, so fordernd ist sie jetzt. Tiefe Bässe durchdringen den Wagon. In der Ferne klingen noch die orientalischen Töne der letzten Nacht nach. Kurz darauf haut uns Forgetti Regretti ihren gewohnt flippigen Sound um die Ohren. Drei Jahre Fahrerfahrung und jedes Mal flashed sie uns aufs Neue. Die Sonne scheint heller als je zuvor und die Spiegelung vom blauen Bergsee, fällt auf die tanzende Meute. Die ersten Sektgläser werden durch die Reihen gereicht, während andere sich am frischen Obst laben.

Nach der kleinen Mittagssause, zieht der Himmel langsam zu und Forgetti Regretti schiebt uns mit ihrem deepen House zurück in unsere Sitze. Draußen wird es kälter und der Wind säuselt am Zug entlang. Tiefe Abgründe liegen unter uns. Wir überqueren eine Brücke, als der Himmel noch einmal aufklart. Sanfte Engelsstimmen rufen uns zu sich. Gerade noch, bevor die ersten Gäste den Stimmen folgen können, fährt der Zug mit vollem Tempo davon und verschwindet im dunklen Schatten des vor ihm liegenden Berges.
