Torin and Tyler have been a huge inspiration to me, they've developed a totally authentic, non-standard psychedelic sound that continues to evolve in powerful and surprising ways. 

They're sound design is phenomenal and is consistently backed up with strong musical elements and rhythmic variations. I'm stoked to be on this remix album, massive respect for Birds of Paradise!

After the success of their debut album ‘Inside The Sun’, regular airplay from the likes of Gilles Peterson, BBC 6 Music and Radio One, live shows across Europe and a recent collaboration with FiFi Rong, ever-evolving electronic/soul collective Ink Project announce the release of their second album ‘Satellite On’ via the Blind Colour label. 

Scheduled for release in early 2016 and featuring an array of new collaborators and vocalists, new single ‘Everything Change’ showcases Brighton-based producer Jez Lloyd’s unique ability to fuse a myriad of contemporary organic and electronic styles; skittering carnival-like percussion, hand shakers and dubby sub-bass undertones alongside neo-spiritual folk melodies; whilst Melanie Dymond waxes lyrical about break-up’s and change - effortlessly projecting her sugar-sweet vocals and blues/gospel-like harmonies in fine form.

Telemachus (The Full Hundred/Sony) steers the release into more upliftingly soulful yet laid-back territory before breakbeat legends Evil Nine (Lovers/Marine Parade/Punks) step-up to deliver a typically peak-time remix in trademark style. Finally, Red Snapper’s Rich Thair (Lo Recordings/Warp/Virgin) concludes with his frantically percussive, tribal re-interpretation - reminiscent of this cult band’s earlier work.

Ink Project - Everything Change (Evil Nine Remix)

Yoyoyo! Positively thrilled to be sharing with you this remix for Hedflux's classic breaks track, 'Non Stop'. It feels super weird to have remixed this tune, as when I first started getting into this kind of music, this was one of my absolute favourites. So it's nothing short of an honour to have been given the opportunity to remix something so close to my heart.

I tried not to stray too far from the original groove, as for me that groove is what makes this track. And I know that a fair few people have a similar relationship with this track to that of my own, so I truly hope i've done it justice. There's only one way to find out, so have a listen and if it doesn't make you want to tear your own ears off, then leave a comment and spread the word :)

By now you will have heard me raving on about Grouch on facebook. For me, and many others, he is one of the true masters of psychedelic music, and a hugely inspiring character! I got to spend a couple of days with him when I was in Australia earlier this year, and we played around on our laptops, producing as many cool sounds as we could in the time we had. After this, we went home and each produced a track using those sounds as the basis. This is my version, and it will be coming out on Broken Robot in December 2012. Grouch's version will be coming out sometime in 2013, i'll keep you posted!
