Bop returns with Hypnotics, a mesmerising four-track EP that pushes the boundaries of his immaculate sonic expertise. Known for his deep, melodic sound and genre-blending approach, Bop enlists the vocal talents of DRIIA and Doktor, alongside a collaboration with bass music specialist Chime.

‘Cravings’ sets the tone with lush melodies and deep atmospherics and a hypnotic vocal. Minimal yet powerful, this is some of Bop’s drum & bass work at its finest. The second track on the EP, ‘Siren Eyes’, sees DRIIA’s ethereal toplines intertwine with Doktor’s signature dancehall energy. DRIIA, a rising star in the electronic scene, has been named one of BBC Radio 1’s Future Stars for 2024, while Doktor’s powerhouse vocals have graced multiple collaborations with the likes of Chase & Status, Sigma, and Friction. 

‘Dormant’ brings a fresh twist with Leeds-based producer Chime who’s influence injects a unique blend of melody and weight, crafting an immersive soundscape through mind-boggling sound design. Closing the EP, ‘Fungification’ dives into Bop’s garage influences. Weighty and stepping, expect intricate rhythms, evolving textures and an absolute bouncer of a bassline.

PREMIERE : Onyr - Swirl [909CNT014] 

Onyr is the electronic music project of London-based drummer and producer Dave Storey. After making his debut in 2025 with releases on Sweden’s AEDI Records and BEAM Records, he now unveils his first full EP, Hydrus, released on the French label 909 Connection.

Drawing on his deep rhythmic sensibility and expansive musical background, his productions blend an eclectic mix of organic textures, psychedelia, and deep techno into a distinctly polyrhythmic and hypnotic sound. The result is an immersive sonic world that bridges the acoustic and electronic, built on carefully crafted grooves, euphoric atmospheres, and a drive to explore different states of consciousness.

To complete the EP, STUPR made a tribal and dubby interpretation of Rainmaker, and R.2614 remixed Swirl, adding his unique occult touch to the release.

Hydrus introduces Onyr as an artist with a clear and compelling sonic identity.

Here's our song 'The Hole Pt. 1'. It's not essential to know this before listening, but here's what it means to us: it's a song about a journey into the space inside yourself. A cathartic, claustrophobic journey of self-confrontation. Apart from that it's also in a different time signature than 4/4 (it's more or less 17/8). This makes it virtually unmixeable too. The Unmoved Mover (or prime mover) in Aristotelian philosophy is the cause of all things, which itself is caused by nothing other than itself.

Unmoved Mover is the title track of the EP of the same name, which features two of the most requested ID's on the DJ set I played with Skrillex back in February 2020, and a very exciting new remix by Sinistarr.
