Intergalactic soundshifter Bop is back with yet another mind-bending release on Hospital Records. Made up of four fresh dance music delights each exploring different pockets of the sonic spectrum, the Saint Petersburg-based musical wizard explores the sounds of UK garage, techno, jungle, electronica and ambient on his latest ‘Plexus’ EP.

‘2gether’ opens the release with a futuristic garage number which is set to light up dancefloors throughout the galaxy. Off-beat dubbed out synths, skittery percussions and a classic UK garage bassline with a modern twist are channelled into an all-round electronic weapon, crafted together intricately by Bop.

Entering into the realm of hypnotic techno, ‘Reform’ sees a raw amalgamation of vibrations that will elevate the mind into a higher state of consciousness. Thumping kick drums and dreamlike synthesis carry the weight of the tune as Bop further demonstrates how his flexible approach to production continues to go unmatched in the world of dance music.

Stepping up the tempo on the aptly titled ‘Surfing The Anxiety Waves’, Bop puts his minimal spin on a new-wave jungle slammer. Expect a resonant bassline which falls downwards into the pits of your stomach, accompanied by hard-hitting breakbeats which fizzle out into nothingness before coming back around to strike again. This one is not for the faint hearted.

‘Guilt Of Being A Human’ rounds off the EP with playful melodies and elements of Bop’s classic microfunk sound, reminiscent of his earlier works such as ‘A Song About My Dog’. This electronic delicacy is filled with a vast sense of spaciousness, scattered with a seemingly never-ending amount of musical intricacies.

Not one for sticking to one style, Bop’s versatile sound has seen him rack up support from an array of tastemakers. His most recent ‘Perehod’ EP received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Laurent Garnier and Oneman. Also no stranger to topping charts outside of the drum & bass world, his ‘Haze’ track with Subwave reached number 1 on the Beatport Garage chart. With support over the years from the likes of DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, not to mention the running of his very own esteemed Microfunk imprint, the sounds of Bop continue to ripple into 2021 and beyond.

This piece is a heartfelt homage to the stunning beauty of the sky overhead. Inspired by brilliant creators like @auralfloat, whose enchanting soundscapes such as "Zwei G" motivate our own artistic journey, we embark on a musical adventure celebrating the essence of flight. 

Drawing from the incredible visuals of DCS Flight Simulator and the lively air traffic at Frankfurt International Airport, we craft a path that fuels our dreams of gliding through the vibrant heavens.

**Taxi-Out: Our Opening Warm-Up**  
As our sonic voyage unfolds, the initial notes lead us along the taxiway toward the runway. The soft glow of the cockpit instruments lights our way, while gentle ambient sounds create an electrifying buzz that mirrors the thrill of engines itching to roar to life. And when the first beat breaks through, we know it’s time to take off. Clear for takeoff!

**Takeoff Roll: Lifting Off**  0:50
We can feel the runway holding us back with the engines rumbling and our speed climbing to 120 knots. But soon, we’re airborne, leaving the ground behind. With a powerful roar at V1, we break free, and our ascent begins, as endless horizons beckon us to climb ever higher.

As we rise at a steady 10-degree angle, we glide through the upper atmosphere, our trajectory reminiscent of a suborbital flight. The introduction will have your hairs standing on end as S.P.Y’s signature reese bass comes tearing in underneath eerie plucks and Liane’s dynamic vocal range.

Russian-based, minimalistic beat smiths Bop x Subwave join forces with one of the most distinct voices in drum & bass on ‘The Shade’. Degs uses the delicately crafted canvas from Bop x Subwave to convey his eternally important message of continuing to spread love and kindness despite the racial injustices and discrimination he’s faced. A remarkable collaboration with an indispensable meaning.

Makoto and Urbandawn roll back to the 90s with ‘Magic Eyes’ featuring the vocals of MC Conrad, a leading figure within drum & bass and a true pioneer of MC culture. Expect a euphoric hands-in-the-air piano breakdown that sets the tone before Urbandawn’s grizzly bass work drives the track into full-throttle energy mode.

‘Broken Bones (feat. Ruth Royall)’ sees the debut collaboration of Whiney and Mitekiss. They offer their majestic take on drum & bass with spacious synth pads, sublime saxophone riffs and the soulful vocals of Ruth Royall, all meticulously blended together into a solemn liquid roller.

Seeing through another first-time collaboration on the NHS400 project, Fred V and Logistics take no prisoners on ‘You Keep Me High’ which sees the combination of both Hospital stalwart’s styles infuse into a gritty banger drenched in warping bass wobbles and scorching drums.

Bringing things to a close, ‘Leviathan’ is the epic by product from former Med School maestros Keeno and Polaris. Historic choral melodies are beautifully juxtapos
