Experimental Saint Petersburg-based sonic shapeshifter Bop is back on Hospital Records with his brand new five-track ‘Perehod’ EP that ventures afar from his usual drum & bass status as he spans through 2-step, breakbeat and ambient: all with his spellbinding signature production finesse which has already received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Alec Falconer, Because Of Art and Oneman.

Opening piece ‘NDE’ casts Bop’s archetypal and skittery off-beat rhythms across a palate of soothing synth pads, adventurous arpeggios and dusty hoover bass drones. Subtly funky throughout, the tinges of garage vocal stabs shimmer across this imaginative stepper.

‘Take Your Time’ offers up thought provoking chord progressions amongst Bop’s contemplative sound . A super low-slung drum pattern makes way for the crisp, immersive vocal tones that flutter elegantly above.

Switching to fifth gear, ‘Beach Simulator 3D’ leads the charge with up-tempo breakbeats racing across dubby chord stabs and eerie percussive effects. A late-night ride you’ll need to buckle your seatbelt for, Bop initiates intergalactic mode on this one.

‘Skolzkaya Dorozhka’, meaning ‘Slippery Slope’ in Russian, is a wobbly dub groove that channels styles from mid-noughties DMZ and Tempa releases, a heavy sub drives through a minimalist half-time groove.

Finally, the 150+ BPM whopper ‘Hiding’ is a nod to Bop’s love for dance music which can be found at the faster end of the electronic spectrum. Ticking hats and warm atmospherics are the perfect wrap-up to a truly special release.

No stranger to pioneering successful moves outside the realms of 174BPM, Bop secured the number 1 spot on the Beatport Garage chart alongside Subwave with ‘Haze’. With support over the years from the likes of DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, not to mention the running of his very own esteemed Microfunk imprint, Bop continues to affirm himself as an undeniable dance music pillar.

Hospital Records’ newest signing Winslow marks his debut solo release on the south-London imprint with his impeccable ‘Sandalwood Nights’ EP. Based out of St. Louis, Missouri, he’s flying the flag for drum & bass across the pond as a producer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, music teacher and tea enthusiast who has quickly affirmed himself as 2021’s ‘one to watch’. With previous releases on Hospital, Soulvent and Goldfat, Winslow’s latest solo release marks the start of an exciting new chapter on his musical journey.

‘Everything & More’ sees the fusion of Winslow’s immaculate production alongside his own vocals, intertwined with the glorious harmonies of Pete Simpson who has previously appeared on Makoto’s recent much-loved anthem ‘Spread Love’, and the London Elektricity classic ‘Impossible To Say’. Inducing pure euphoria with uplifting chord progressions and light-hearted synth flourishes, Winslow’s fresh take on drum & bass is the perfect scene setter for the rest of the release.

EP title-track ‘Sandalwood Nights’ sees Winslow explore his love for the deeper avenues of drum & bass. Eerie synth drones, off-beat bass wobs and a downpitched vocal sample create a dream-inducing atmosphere that transports the listener into a sonic realm of sharp and soulful soundscapes.

The third and final track, ‘Snooze Button Roller’ is another classic embodiment of Winslow’s unique approach to creating music. Mind-bending vocal samples and powerful guitar licks swirl above rolling drumwork and a serious bassline.

Winslow’s healthy selection of releases have garnered support from drum & bass staples like High Contrast, Mitekiss, Nu:Tone, Workforce, and Degs. Aside from music production Winslow also creates content for his popular Youtube channel that delves deeper into his musical technique, thought processes and influences. From playing in orchestras from the age of eight, Winslow’s strong penchant for melodies and rhythm has translated across into his drum & bass career, seeing him bag spots on UKF’s ‘Future Vision’ livestream as well as at Hospitality Weekend In The Woods in Beckenham Place Park this September. The long-awaited Caracal Project remix of Camo & Krooked’s ‘Set It Off’ featuring hip-hop legend Jeru The Damaja finally sees the light of day after being one of the most sought after drum & bass dubs of 2020. The France based producer’s futuristic sound design is a stark yet fitting contrast to the iconic flows of Jeru The Damaja where two sounds collide on this breathtaking remix.

Triple threat supergroup Kings Of The Rollers meet drum & bass titan S.P.Y once again but this time the tables are turned, with the trio remixing the old-school rave inspired ‘See Your Face Again’. Upping the tempo and injecting a sinister bassline, this remix is a force not to be reckoned with.

Lynx’s 2015 anthem ‘Clap Track’ gets a genre-bending spice up from Manchester’s very own Think Tonk. With the original being so large it landed a feature in the ‘Need For Speed’ game series, Think Tonk’s weighty interpretation sees pounding 808s, playful horns and bashment influences accumulate into an unstoppable stomper.

Stepping up for remix duties on Q-Project’s ‘Computer Love’ is Kessler. Hailing from Belfast but residing in Rotterdam, the dance music prodigy’s usual work can be found within the realms of garage and breaks. A frequent airwave sound supplier on the likes of Rinse FM, Beatport and Balamii, expect raw jungle choppage and a warped bassline sent from above.

Drum & bass heavyweight Villem is up next with a stunning rebuild of Peter Nice Trio’s ‘Harp Of Gold’, which was the first ever release on Hospital Records way back in 1996. Paying homage to the classic NHS loungecore style, Villem’s recreation of the track from the ground up features live harp re-recordings, beefed up drum breaks and silky smooth melodies.

Hospital Records are extremely proud to present ‘Smile & Wave’, the second studio album from drum & bass’ friendliest MC, Inja. With the biggest smile on his face, the lyricist, vocalist, poet, artist and storyteller delivers 16 tracks, seamlessly weaved together through Inja’s infectiously feel-good flow and sincere wordsmithery. The entire album was produced by Whiney, further cementing their relationship as one of the most untestable dance music pairings. Also featuring Charlotte Haining, Eva Lazarus, DRS, Fox, Cleveland Watkiss, Singing Fats, and DJ Marky.

Album title track ‘Smile & Wave’ is the musical embodiment of Inja’s playful demeanour. Known for being the world’s smiliest artist, Inja wrote and recorded this feel-good bouncer alongside his daughter who is “pretty much the first person to hear anything” he’s up to musically. Expect a rude bassline and infectious wordplay.

Teaming up with superstar singer-songwriter Charlotte Haining, ‘Reach Out’ sees two of the most distinct voices in dance music come together over a bittersweet wobbler written about times when you feel “so out of place, out of reach” in the words of Inja. Having worked alongside an impressive array of electronic artists including Hybrid Minds, Sub Focus, My Nu Leng and Friction, Charlotte’s delicately powerful hooks are the perfect counterpart to Inja’s heartfelt flows.

Luscious pads and dubbed out pianos and guitars set the scene on ‘Baby Angel’ featuring the worldwide wave-maker Eva Lazarus who returns to Hospital Records for the first time since featuring on Etherwood’s ‘Light My Way Home’ back in 2015. Having worked alongside staple figures including Mungo’s Hi-Fi, Zed Bias and Gentlemen’s Dub Club, Eva infuses her reggae, hip-hop and jungle flavours alongside Inja’s humbling storytellings.

Inja’s “personal favourite to perform live as it smashes every and any system”, ‘Explode’, is a 140BPM anthem featuring flows that will ignite any room and a killer instrumental that will have you bobbing no questions asked. Proving himself to be a versatile and skillful microphone controller, Inja’s ability to shell down any tempo is ever more apparent on this upfront banger.

Three legendary MCs unite on ‘Hands, Lights, Flames, Phones’ where Inja joins forces with two of Manchester’s very finest - DRS and Fox. Sharp lyricism is rife as the triple threat of three titan wordsmiths link up, seeing energetic bars bouncing off each other over a cold-cut drum & bass roller. This is a combination not to be tested.

Inja has established himself as a pinnacle figure within the realms of drum & bass. Loved for his ability to express his thoughts into honest, relatable lyrics in ‘She Just Wanna Dance’, a spoken word piece for Amnesty International that was a viral online hit in 2017, and more recently switching it up to ‘We Just Wanna Dance’ during the UK lockdown, expressing his desire to be reconnected with ravers again. This electronic delicacy is filled with a vast sense of spaciousness, scattered with a seemingly never-ending amount of musical intricacies.

Not one for sticking to one style, Bop’s versatile sound has seen him rack up support from an array of tastemakers. His most recent ‘Perehod’ EP received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Laurent Garnier and Oneman. This electronic delicacy is filled with a vast sense of spaciousness, scattered with a seemingly never-ending amount of musical intricacies.

His most recent ‘Perehod’ EP received the seal of approval from the likes of Ejeca, London Elektricity, Laurent Garnier and Oneman. With support over the years from the likes of DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, as well as radio support on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM and Reprezent, not to mention the running of his very own esteemed Microfunk imprint, the sounds of Bop continue to ripple into 2021 and beyond.

Intergalactic soundshifter Bop is back with yet another mind-bending release on Hospital Records. Made up of four fresh dance music delights each exploring different pockets of the sonic spectrum, the Saint Petersburg-based musical wizard explores the sounds of UK garage, techno, jungle, electronica and ambient on his latest ‘Plexus’ EP.

‘2gether’ opens the release with a futuristic garage number which is set to light up dancefloors throughout the galaxy. Off-beat dubbed out synths, skittery percussions and a classic UK garage bassline with a modern twist are channelled into an all-round electronic weapon, crafted together intricately by Bop.
