Trey Gunn - Well (Russia)

I grew up surrounded by musicians. 
There wasn't a single person in my immediate family network 
who didn't play an instrument or sing. 
Mom, Dad, Uncles and Aunts.... Gramma and Grampa....

I thought that was how every family did it. My parents bought me a radio and I remember falling asleep with it under my pillow. Listening to to this endless steam of music, I thought the bands were people from where I lived. 
One of my earliest memories is of me sitting in my mother's lap watching a dear family friend play his accordion and a short blast of feedback from his volume pedal scared me.
After that moment I was haunted, for most of my childhood, by a large volume pedal with sharp teeth and an endless cable running out behind it trying to get me. 
I was born in to this.
If you know me, you're in the band. Come over and play. We'll eat good food, play good music and make the sun proud to leave us to the moon's company.

I have always been fascinated by rain and a wet city scene in Zurich, Switzerland inspired me. It’s incredible how rain affects the view of a landscape; the soft mist just rising in the distance; the entire place suddenly taking on shades of blue and grey; the moving, undefined clouds in the sky. That entire place feels frozen in time, like a photo, a portrait.

Slow Ripples Fading

Wil Bolton's 'Maemi' takes its title from the Korean word for cicadas. Recorded live at Cafe OTO, London during the Home Normal label's Homenormalism festival on 3 August 2013, Wil weaves effected guitar drones, synthesizer, music box, effects pedals and environmental sounds creating a slow moving dronescape. The environmental sounds - timber mill machinery, traffic, and the buzz of cicadas - were recorded in Incheon, South Korea in August 2012, during an artist residency at the Incheon Art Platform.

I like to discover and get inspired by music from other -non professional- artists in this genre. 

When not on Soundcloud I listen to ambient, classical music (almost everything from Bach to Ligeti), post-punk (played in a few bands in the eighties), post-rock, alternative rock, progressive rock, electronic (mainly Autechre, Boards of Canada) and lots of other stuff... (new-age not allowed in my house).
