New artists on Toy Tonics! gome are an organic disco duo from Hamburg. Two guys that make good mood disco inspired by the 1980 Italo and Munich Disco vibe and share an addiction to gourmet food. Positive vibes, rolling grooves, catchy melodic bits and vocals and a lot of musicality. 

For one track of the EP they invited one of Germanys most interesting underground rap artists to do a German hip house tune: Tightill. Funkiest guy from Germany on a mic.

Exploited Club warmly welcome in Pleasure Voyage who step up to the plate and do as they do best: casting out a wide musical net, gathering in influences from Breaks, House, Disco, Balearic and Funk whilst pulling in a hefty dose of fun, flair and ecstasy to boot.

'Cuánto Cuesta' is a simmering pot of pure joy. A bubbling bass line has the track on a low boil throughout while luscious, buoyant synths intimately jostle alongside bold but allaying piano chords. Classic breaks snap in the back while a gently acidic lead flexes in and out of focus and the resultant groove sends out a clear and cosy invitation to get loose.

A regular on Johannes Albert's Frank Music's label and Tensnake's True Romance, Claus Casper chips in with his 'No Tengo Dinero' remix - a fortified revision that packs an extra punch with a layered snare, cow bells and an open hat that seasons the groove with a little bite and snap.

Rolling snare fills punctuate the track as Claus creates ramps for sections that showcase his indisputable chops on the keys. The passion and heat of the orignal remains intact as progress tumbles towards a long, spine-tingling breakdown that pops wide open in a manner that will send the floor absolutely nuts.

Latin Grammy nominee Jimena Angel returns to Yuksek’s Partyfine with colourful new album of global grooves, Aguacero. Cumbia, Latin electronica and pop hooks characterize this love-fueled and sunny sound.
Jimena is a singer, producer, guitarist and DJ from Bogotá who has already put out three albums, several singles and picked up a Grammy nomination. As well as touring the world as a solo artist and performing everywhere from Glastonbury to Roskilde, she is recognized as a Spanish rock pioneer who has been in Colombian bands Pepa Fresa, Sidestepper and Alerta Kamarada since the 90s. 

This new album was written when she was living in the Colombian Caribbean but also on tour in Europe, which musically influenced the sound with dub, highlife, Konpa and tropical disco fusing with the melodies of Colombian bullerengue and the “magical realism” of that part of the world. She says, “This is an album that speaks about love and how it transforms, as water does it since it rains, waters the earth, reaches the sea and evaporates to fall again in the form of a rainstorm. Thus, love is born... it illuminates hearts and lights flames in the body, little by little it grows and transforms, and sometimes it ends or needs to be cut abruptly, giving space to mourning, introspection, inspiration that creates art and helps to heal, to be reborn again as self-love and eventually be shared and illuminate other hearts ... It is the cycle of love."

'Telepatia' kicks off with bubbly highlife-style rhythms, shakers and trilling guitar licks topped with Angel's carefree vocals and big horns. 'Tierra Caliente' slows into fat, warm dub territory and 'Aguacero' is an introspective sound with pillow bass and lazy reggae horns with a smoldering vocal. 'Fuego' brings a dubby disco vibe with sliding hi-hats and pensive horns, while 'Selflove' is a warm Afro house exploration with acrobatic vocals shimmering through the steamy mix. 'Que Yo Ta Voy Pa' and 'Erasonera' keep it deep and cavernous with swaying dub undercurrents and organic percussion brushing up with electronic production that brings an irresistible pulse. 'Llego La Luz' has a carnival feel and celebratory energy before the broken beat swagger of 'Caracoli' and horizontal Latin dub bliss of 'Adios' closes with a heart-aching vocal full of soul.

DC Promo Tracks: Giovanni Damico "Night Time" (Instrumental)

It’s been some time since Jon Sable’s last release on In Dust We Trust, the label he runs with Chaos In The CBD. This three-track EP delivers exactly what you’d expect — focused deep house cuts that explore different textures and grooves.

The A-side title track Imperfect Circuit offers a dubby, rolling groove, combining loose percussion with textured stabs and a steady bassline. On the B-side, Heads Up brings warmer pads and a more solid, thumping low end for a grounded feel. Closing the record, People Person centres on a gritty, groove-driven drum pattern with a raw, rhythmic focus.

The still fresh Label "Foul & Sunk" is about to release their fifth EP, and still not an year old! This time ist is the debut single from Oldschool-House affictionado Borrowed Identity. Though still young, you could easily believe that he was there since the beginning, producing a fusion of Detroit- and Chicago- Style House with his own up-to-date Flavour.

And he got the fantastic Mark E to finish the A-Side of this 4-Track Record with a remix!

The A Side starts with "Stimulation". And that's a perfect name for this track that comes with a really dry and classic combination of smashing snairs and a bumping bassline, soon accompanied by a spheric synth that sends you flying on the dancefloor. This one's a soon to be classic that feels like produced with the trippy afterhours of grimey underground clubs in mind, but can be played at every part of your set – if you play it right, that is.

The A2 is the Mark E Remix No.9 of "Stimulation". And it draws a clear line between everything called "edit" and a proper remix. His own Interpretation of this track reminds of a steam machine, gaining force as it rolls forward, using the sounds of the original mix to build up a totally different energy – one that is demanding but at the same time keeps you going and wanting more.

The B Side doesn't come short, either.
"Faith", the first track on the Flipside (if you're a vinyl lover) is a bit more laidback, but on the dancefloor a huge shaker! Smooth keys and soothing vocals paired with a straight kick, thriving drums and a perfect snair to top it off . Smooth, but sill made to dance to.

The B2, "Enter the Void", is a track that's more than worthy to finish off this wonderful record. It's the deepest of the pack and an 8-minutes monster of a track that takes it's time. Dub meets House and shows how Deephouse can and should sound like.

All in all a true gem that will not go out ouf style as long as there is House.

Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts imprint signals the end of 2012 with a Various Artist sampler entitled 'Things Have Changed EP'. Featuring a few household names alongside some future stars; Alexkid, Borrowed Identity & Mechanical Soul Brother, Gab Rhome and Andrew Grant & Lomez, all appear on this release filled with quality and diversity.

After critically acclaimed works on Rekids, Freerange & Desolat, Alexkid opens things up with a monstrous kick drum on 'Euclidean'. Layers of lush arpeggiated synths unfold around shuffling percussion culminating in a hypnotic climax that peaks with the release of a throbbing bassline.

Borrowed Identity & Mechanical Soul Brother get the party started on 'With You'' serving up a hazy sub bassline and skipping highs giving this one plenty of old school flavour. Spacey pads swirl and cascade in and around the mix paving the way for a breakdown of epic proportions to provide serious hands in the air moment.

On the flip Gab Rhome kicks things off with a samba inspired bassline before a cleverly arranged call and response snare and clave pattern are introduced to create the groove. Expert melodic layering is complimented by several carefully selected vocal snippets showcasing this producer’s strong understanding of sonic textures.

Fresh off the back of a massive release on EDEC Music Outlet, Circoloco resident Andrew Grant & Lomez are left with closing duties and they do not disappoint. A big kick drum coupled with a funky offbeat bassline set the tone whilst airy pads pulsate in and out of the mix. Shimmering samples and brassy synth riffs build the tension until a groove laden high end is finally released much to the listeners delight.
