There has been renaissance in Shanty singing and maritime music generally in recent years, Hastings in East Sussex has been at the forefront of this renaissance. Partly responsible for the re-emergence of this maritime tradition in Hastings – a small fishing town with one of the few beach-launched fleets remaining in the UK - have been the individuals who together make up the RX Shantymen - Mick Bovee, Tom Kelly, Scott Reid & Jon Tigwell.

They got together after having been heard singing individually, it was suggested that they would make a great sound together (public opinion was right!!). Their mission is quite simply to spread the gospel of Shanty singing and maritime music, entertain their audience and have a good time doing it.

The Norfolk Broads are 4 women who enjoy singing low-pitched folk songs about love, despair and dastardly boyfriends. 

Bounding Main has been celebrating music all over the US and Europe since 2013  They have performed at international music and maritime festivals, sharing their richly harmonic renditions of traditional songs as well as new compositions by members of the group.  Beloved by music aficionados, maritime enthusiasts and families all over Bounding Main brings music and improvisational humor to all of their performances!  This group's music is sure to bring a smile and a laugh into your life as they sing about fellowship, adventure and romance!

The Longest Johns is a four-man, a capella folk music band, born out of a mutual love of traditional folk songs and shanties. They rock maritime songs alongside the more unusual and less traditional folk tunes. All with a hearty cheer and a row-ho-ho!
