PREMIERE: Saturday Vibes - All night long [Rewind Ltd]

Southbound Sounds, a musical duo hailing from Cork, Ireland, known for their captivating deep house and techno compositions that have garnered recognition from prominent figures like Fish Go Deep, Chez Damier, Norm Talley, Delano Smith, Stuart Patterson, Mark Farina, and more, present an EP paying tribute to the legendary figure of Detroit, Mike Huckaby.Titled "Educator," this release, available on Deeper Groove Recordings in November, features three original tracks and a remix courtesy of another talented Irish artist, John Daly.The EP's titular track embarks on a profound journey into the realm of deep house, skillfully incorporating samples of Mike Huckaby's voice, where he shares, "First of all, I'm a DJ, producer, sound designer, and educator." Huckaby's influence permeates the composition as a Huckaby-inspired house rhythm flows gracefully beneath. John Daly's reinterpretation of "Educator" introduces a slightly slower tempo, focusing on a rich, pulsating bassline, while adding layers of gratifying percussion and additional keyboard elements."Keep It Movin'" lives up to its name, urging the listener to groove along by enveloping crisp kick drums with an array of luscious synth textures and inviting keys. This track also features a soulful sample with a lowered pitch, embracing the essence of deep house.Concluding the EP is "Upstairs," a captivating B-side gem. Lava Lava keeps things in Glasgow for their 9th release with the debut EP from Illyus under his ‘Bowfingers’ moniker.  Over the past decade Illyus has clocked up international recognition and countless accolades alongside Barrientos for their production prowess and high energy DJ sets. After releasing two singles on Black Riot & ORIGINS this year, Bowfingers marks his debut EP with three irresistible sample-driven House cuts.

Leading the EP is title track ‘Our Love’.  Mesmerising drum patterns lead through to nostalgic guitar loops and glittering vocals.  The track opens up with shimmering keys, energetic breakdowns and funky looped bass guitars, a nod to the golden era of French Touch.

Bowfingers slows things down with ‘Sweet Nancy’ which slowly unfolds over 6 minutes.  Laid-back percussion, warm bass-lines and soft trumpets lead through to the stunning vocal sample.  As the track develops, strings and vocals interplay beautifully with each other throughout to create a sunset ready slow House gem.

Rounding things off is the club-focussed cut ‘French Stick’.  Bowfingers aims this one straight at the peak-time with rolling bass, punchy percussion and sharp hi-hats.  Warped guitar samples and looped vocals build throughout the track giving a raw and relentless energy.
