As spring dawns, Rhythm Section International go from Local Artist to a pair of very ‘local’ artists - Peckham’s very own Chris Watson + Chris Coupe; otherwise known as FYI CHRIS , who present the ‘Back In The Millennium’ EP as the labels 5th offering.

The EP was born after a rather hazy late night listening session at Rhythm Section HQ, where bossman Bradley Zero was instantly beguiled by the Duo’s hypnotic and rhythmically complex arrangements. 
The record begins abrasively with the trance-inducing mechanical stutter of 'back in the millennium', before shuffling into downbeat number ‘Jeru'  and then picks things up with the peak time groove of ‘need i say more’  before bringing us back down to earth with the melancholic acid bump of 'dedication’.

John Roberts' Paloma is one of the most interesting tunes of the collection, a track that confirms the American producer's recent return to an even lusher battery of sounds, drifting more freely towards John Cage'ian shores and melting elements as diverse as nervous guitar vibratos and strings getting distorted in an background orgy of swashing percussions.

First up on the fresh Amsterdam-based label Late Night Burners is Kurley’s debut “Feelings EP”. For this young and very talented musician anything goes, as long as it’s unique, warm, rhythmic, and raw, and this five tracker perfectly showcases this ethos.

From the uplifting, acid-driven title track, we dive straight into “Heartbeat”, taking us a level deeper. On the B-side Kurley starts off with the stabby, slightly melancholic “Long Time” while never losing the floor out of sight, preparing us for the vocoder-infused killer “Groove All Night”. Closing off the EP is “Tribute”, bringing a more exotic type of heat. In short: a lot to love.

This forthcoming Tanzbar release from Far Out Radio Systems is no different. Two tracks designed for big rooms, paired with two IDM productions, but all carry that charateristic soul of FORS tracks, tough drums and emotive, careful synth programming. “Muskoxen” is just that - calm, reassuring pads sit over bubbling drums somewhere north of 170 bpm.

Golden sand dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, each grain shimmering under the sun's gaze. The air was hot and sticky, it felt like no place for life to thrive, or even exist. In the distance something broke through the hot air, disturbing the desert's peaceful surroundings. A long procession of figures rode across the expanse on horse back, the muted pitter patter of hooves resounding in perfect unison. The figures were clad in beautiful white garments and sparkling jewels, each exuding a prodigious air of regality. They proudly watched over the land, it was their home and only they knew it's secrets. 

Parisian native D.K. returns to his regular home Antinote for the second in a trilogy of three releases over the next few months. Riding For A Fall shows off D.K.'s signature style, tropical bumping rhythms, this time directed at the dance floor.
