I AM A DOPE MC came out the Cypher Workshop series I organized at Hi-Arts in East Harlem. The participating MC's were not only doing the Freestyle Union Cypher Workshop exercises but developing as performers for our first Rap Recital. I wasn't sure how they would respond to the idea of affirmations but they loved it. Before that, I was always hesitant to niche my niche so specifically but I ended up creating a series of meditations for artist development. I'm looking forward to sharing them with the world. Hip Hop artists need support and tools to help them in the process of identifying their own voices and staying true to them.
