The beginning of the Dream Labs series, And it indeed has an "arrival" feeling. 

You might want to turn on the Sub for this one.  We now slowly pivot away from BrainStorm's catalog...and explore all the delicious projects, collaborations, features, remixes, etc. All those along the way, that they got tangled up in throughout their history. 

During the development stage, Alphamind took the lead and initially sent the working files to Keith. This contribution became an essential part of the release, which was carefully curated around the theme of "Dream Labs" and Jarno became the Featured Artist for this release. 

"What does that even mean Keith?"

- That's a great question, Notable individuals such as Lost Frequency, Sum-1, Der Waldläufer, Ambient-Konnekt, Sly Puppy, Capn Foo, Lost Paradigms, and Alphamind all actively contributed to the project which ended up being a "mini-album, or an EP of sorts. Like a secret council of SoundClouders. :D 

Sonic Architects is a group of talented sound designers who come together to collaborate on various projects.  

Sonic Architects constantly experiment with different techniques, technologies, and tools to push the boundaries of what is achievable in sound design. Whether they are working on a film score, a virtual reality experience, an art installation, or an ambient album, Sonic Architects consistently brings forth their collective expertise and unwavering passion to create sonic experiences that captivate and deeply engage audiences.

 They are like masterful storytellers, painting vivid sonic landscapes that leave a profound and lasting impact on listeners. Or in other words, the Audio painters of the Desktopography, Sonic Architect, depthCORE, Evoke, all of the collaborative Collectives.

Alpha Team
Alphamind and BrainStorm Construction Phase: 90 days

Yesterday, Dr. Robert Williams of the Dream Testing and Research Centre held a scheduled press release to unveil the latest findings of the project.

The doctors made significant progress in their Alpha Wave Research Training (AWRT). In their study, they gathered a group of dream testers consisting of Olympic athletes, clairvoyants, and specially trained individuals, and conducted several carefully designed "Dream Dynamic Experiments".

According to Dr. Williams, the Alpha group has successfully established a direct link to the subconscious mind and has the ability to manipulate its input and content. In a project titled "Awakening" within the Alpha Mind program, they have cracked the code of the brain, allowing the listener to hear the brain's electricity in an audible, sonic form.

During the Awakening project, the dream phase was monitored and controlled through a computer interface, enabling the dream researcher to essentially shape the dreamer's experience. "It was like being able to do everything you have ever wanted," said the Swedish gold medallist, describing her experience. The Alpha Team also conducted several other experiments, including "The Neptune Experiment" and a signal experiment called "Deeep Inside".

The Beta Team released a research finding called "Sun & Rain", which explores how external projections can be interpreted by the mind as its own thoughts.

Dr. Williams emphasizes that the entire project is in its early stages, but expects amazing results in the coming months. According to NASA, the planetary positioning in the next few weeks will greatly enhance the extra-sensory abilities of some individuals, like those at the DTRC, magnifying their capabilities 175 times beyond their normal state.

(NIGHTMAR08) LAB REPORT: Audio Construction phase: 14 days

@ 0:27 seconds,  You meet the Destruction, as he makes a high pass... he will continue to loop for a moment or two, giving you a sense of how organic, wet, cold, and scaley it is.
@ 3:00 or so, we can sense in the lower MHz, the Destruction slithering around your ankles. and
@ 8:00 things will reach the Apex. 

It is "the moment." 

You will have this feeling that the "destruction" that glides by you, is like some form of a cerebral floating Chinese-style dragon. it is profound as if you make eye contact with it. And it takes a moment to let that settle in. 

- Take a moment and witness, the destruction, move past you.

- However.... the "Destruction" will be that last "blip" you see in the waveform. 

- .. .the impact. THIS YOU WILL FEEL.

* most vivid dreaming occurs during this stage

Let's dive into the topic of perception:

Our perception, whether it's what we see, hear, or feel, is heavily influenced by our expectations. In a sense, what we perceive is often what we most expect. Expectations take on many forms, with context being one of the most significant factors. 

To demonstrate the powerful influence of context on perception, let's perform a quick exercise:

time yourself reading aloud the following two sentences and note the difference in speed:

1. "Form as to arranged and the randomly quickly are example accurate words easier meaningful much a, therefore, words sentence these in and then read same preceding the."

2. "These words form a meaningful sentence and are, therefore, much easier to read quickly and accurately than the same words randomly arranged as in the preceding example."

You most likely took longer to read the first sentence. The reason for this disparity is that in the second sentence, you could perceive the organization and the meaningful context of the words. 


This facilitated your understanding and, consequently, your speed of reading. 

On the contrary, the first sentence lacked contextual cues, making it more challenging to process. 

Additionally, personal interests, occupations, and individual personality traits can significantly influence each person's unique perceptual experience.

This fact about perception is often utilized in tests that utilize interpretations of ambiguous figures to assess personality traits. In a classic study on imagination, Bartlett discovered that subjects asked to interpret inkblots frequently revealed much information about their interests and occupations.

The influence of perception biases resulting from one's profession can also be observed in stimuli that are less ambiguous than inkblots. In an experiment conducted by Clifford and Bull, police officers and civilians were shown several hours of city street footage. Their task was to identify certain fugitives, as identified by mugshots, and differentiate between legal and criminal actions.

 Although both groups observed the same number of people and actions, the police officers reported more alleged thefts compared to the civilians. This discrepancy can be attributed to the fact that the police officers expect to see crime, and their expectation biases their perception in that direction. Therefore, expectation plays a vital role in shaping how we perceive the world.

I just came back from practice, and I have a brand new snare drum. It sounds incredible! 

And with that note, I wanted to share with you some of the private reserves. These are the fundaments that go on to be BrainStorm Songs, normally. But not this one. This one is a hypnotic groove that does its thing! 

 With each pattern that was played, the song gradually took shape and emerged beautifully.

Way back when, my friend J and I used to jam our Sundays away on our Atari. Me mixing our own pre-recorded loops and unique, melodic arpeggios and J improvising melodies over that mix, often resulting in hourlong opuses. I have fond memories of long sessions that almost felt like they were beyond time and space; just creative capsules of music and intuitive collaboration. Not many words were uttered; we spoke with each other through the music.

Now, many years and other priorities later, we have rekindled our musical co-creativity and breathed new life into our old format from those jam sessions: Spacemaze, but with a different take on the collab because of geographical reasons. J has made Spacemaze Apollo I part 1 (posted on his solo SC, Phuse https://on.soundcloud.com/Adi6S4FwBUWpgvDXA) and this is my continuation of the project, part 2. We aim to continue this project together and post our finished mixes on SC under our old band name, @PekPax.
