We’re thrilled to present "Calibre," a collaboration between Keith Alban and @psytraxxmusic. Inspired by the “Chapter” of the DepthCORE artistic guild also named Calibre, we merge our creative expressions. While Sven Klitsch isn’t part of this project, Keith from Miltenberg and Psytraxx from Aschaffenburg combine their distinctive sounds.

This piece also pays homage to the cherished TV show "Airwolf," which had a profound impact on Keith’s upbringing. You’ll find its essence woven throughout the music. Our shared musical journey sets the stage for an exciting experience: "A Trip To Elsewhere Part II."

The journey from "Pre-Calibre" to "Calibre" is a sonic illustration.

From Fragmentation to Cohesion: Individual, somewhat disparate sounds in "Pre-Calibre" evolve into a unified and integrated sonic tapestry in "Calibre."

From Potential to Realization: The nascent musical ideas and potential dualities present in the rougher track are fully explored and realized with greater depth and nuance in the finished version.

From Exploration to Narrative: The searching and experimental feel of "Pre-Calibre" gives way to a more structured and narratively driven sonic experience in "Calibre."

It's like watching a sculptor take raw clay ("Pre-Calibre") and, through careful shaping and refinement, transform it into a detailed and expressive sculpture ("Calibre"). 

The underlying material might be the same, but the final form and the story it tells are vastly different.

I must acknowledge the fantastic source of my artwork: Desktopography - desktopography.net/. I am also a part of three art collectives: Desktopography, depthCORE, and EvokeONE, where I have served as the music director.  

I have been fortunate enough to use their incredible works in this format. The heart of this experience lies in the stunning artwork contributed by the talented artists from all three collectives, lending a unique charm and beauty to the BrainStorm visual treasure.

Over the pandemic lockdowns I started to dedicate a lot of my time to learning how to master my own music as well as improving my production and mixing skills. Still not very good at it but I nevertheless love the creative process. The main reason for sharing these projects on here is getting feedback from others who aren't as limited as I currently am when it comes to monitoring (as the most difficult and frustrating part for me so far has been getting tracks to translate well across other systems).

I do not have an acoustically treated space or access to a studio. All the production, mixing and mastering is done on my laptop with the latest version of FL Studio, some FabFilter plug-ins (among others), an old pair of AKG K702s (Monitoring low-end on these is a nightmare as there's a near 5db drop-off in freq. response at around 100hz and lower so I have to use an EQ correction curve) and an old pair of Numark monitors.

I've been working with quite a backlog of projects from 2019 onwards that I want to upload once ready and, since I have a limitation of 180mins, i'm only going to be uploading previews to try and save on space and make sure I can upload as many as I can.
