Keepsake is a concert work for full orchestra, dedicated to Grandma Westfall. While its foundation remains symphonic, the piece delicately weaves in stylistic influences from the big band era of the 1940s, offering a subtle nod to that timeless musical period.

Throughout the movement, particular emphasis is placed on distinct instrumental voices—the Alto Flute, Soprano Sax, Bass Clarinet, and brushed Snare Drum—each contributing to the work’s warm, reflective character. These carefully chosen timbres evoke memories of an era while preserving the symphony’s sweeping orchestral identity, making Keepsake a heartfelt musical tribute.
