Beatgeeks is a producer night in Berlin, Germany created and curated by producers Suff Daddy, Hazeem and Party promoter & vinyl selecta LeBob. From Jazz to Glitch, Bleep to Hip Hop, all genres and varieties of high quality instrumental music captivate the listeners each and every time. Numerous producers come threw and display their sets and create a very unique and authentic vibe since 2011 every 1st & 3rd tuesday of the month. 

Berlin based label Jakarta Records in collaboration with BeatEvolution Rec. now releases several small 7inch editions. Starting of with “Beatgeeks - to go” a rare and dope beat-collection of producers that have been part of this event thus far. Each episode will be pressed as a limited edition of 200 7" vinyl with unique, customized cover. 

In Episode I and II well-known producers and regular guests to the event Dexter, Suff Daddy, KutMasta Kurt and Figub Brazlevic do the honors of exposing their latest sounds. Episodes III & IV will take a slightly different approach to beats that are electronical but not yet techno. Watch beats, not TV!

A straight up Hammond wig out! An uptempo instrumental chock full of stunning crunchy drum breaks, the biting and growling Hammond, chukka-wakka guitar and hip heavy bass. This is how to showcase the unique sound of a swirling Hammond organ and its way inside The Getup's comfort zone. Its hard to pull a track like this together and make it work, here its played by a supertight band at the top of their game who know exactly what they are doing. DJs watch out, this is dancefloor mayhem!

The Getup are more than your average Hammond Funk outfit and this track proves it. A bubbling bass line kicks the track into a killer up tempo funk groove, having you reaching for the volume knob to crank it up as the first verse bursts out.  The track takes on a whole new dimension as the chorus reveals a four-on-the-floor solid dance groove, with Jamiroqui-esque tasty chord changes, and then the horns stab us back into the next verse.  A percussive, reverberant Hammond solo takes us into a drum break that is DJ and sampler's heaven, before the tunes rounds out with a double chorus and ends on more punchy stabs……. a midtempo vocal workout showcasing the sheer musicality of the band…….funk of the highest order!

Blazed a quick mix for the homies Squid Rock and Kid David over at Betwn The Brks for the new forth volume dropping very soon!

We play more than just breaks, so I decided to do a new Hip-Hop mix (a lot of which sample classic breaks -- so keep your ears open for those!) plus some original beats by my LGA fam Paten Locke.

Before my next mix of newer material I wanted to make the first in a series of Classics mixes. These are the breaks that I remember being played all the time in the early 2000's. Some of them are straight up bboy anthems. Leacy, Dadeo, Geometrix and local radio DJ's had a big impact on what I play in this mix. To me, these sounds were everywhere and I wanted to bring that vibe back for the newer generation who might not know these breaks as well. Thank you to everyone who's supported me and believed in me.
