East London based label, Soulvent Records, return with a brand new release. Summer wouldn't be summer without an incredible anthem, which has been delivered by one of the hottest duo's to come out of the Netherlands in recent years, NCT.
Jeroen Nai Chung Tong & Alexander Witschge's debut on Soulvent comes in the form of 'Scars', bright stabs and mellow strings set the tone in the intro, building up to a climactic drop full of plucky synths, light snappy drums and an over-all 'feel good' vibe, the perfect accompaniment to any festival bound Drum & Bass fan.
The b-side see's the incredible NCT join forces with their Belgiun neighbour and Soulvent family member, Diego Torres for the breathtaking track, 'No One Home'. This vocal lead track, with the added touch from Diego Torres' signature swelling piano, brings together cinematic style strings and guitars into a beautiful drop with deep basslines and rolling drums.
This perfect coming together of material and artists adds another instant classic to Soulvent back catalogue and will no doubt make appearences into sets throughout the summer months this year.

The Fat have been globetrotting for much of this years releases but this time we’re back home and couldn’t be happier to introduce a fellow Londoner that goes by the name of Prspktv.

‘Stargazing’ features RSWT from Nottingham and these 2 cook up a gorgeous, jazzy, summer jam that lyrically and musically tugs at the heart strings. When I pressed RSWT to explain what inspired his lyrics he told me it was a combination of missing nature during lockdown coupled with a recent break up. Prspktv’s production is the perfect backdrop for some fresh story telling that’s equal parts joy and sadness. This is an artist with bags of soul and he laces this sun kissed track with melancholy trumpets, chirping birds, filtered keys and catchy vocal snippets than stay with you long after the tracks finished.

‘Lovedrops’ continues the theme of summer ambience as it opens with playground sounds and jungle breaks before opening out to evocative double bass and tinkling jazz keys. Prspktv summons his inner Dilla as he weaves his samples in and out of the track. Liquid jungle for the soul!

The partnership was set in motion against the monotonous, mundane backdrop of Irish commercial radio and club scene. The stage was set for something fresh, new and innovative. Musically there was an only one ingrediant missing, something when added would set in motion these two lads from Dublin's fair city. In strolled Liquid Funk, and out strolled Breakshift.


The pair were drawn into collaboration by the desire to broadcast this new sound to the growing army of followers of this suede sound. With an album release only shortly around the corner, we can expect knocks on the doors of industry heavyweights and music lovers alike - a simple formula which boasts the raising of eyebrows, roofs and spirits in equal measure.”
