About Brent Lawson:

Brent Lawson, a key figure in the Progressive House scene, has steadily built a reputation as a producer, DJ, and label boss. Originating from Eastern Scotland, Brent’s early exposure to 80s synth music laid the foundation for his involvement in electronic music. His journey took a significant turn during visits to Arbroath's Rhumba Club, where he developed a deep appreciation for the genre, eventually leading him to pursue a career in DJing.

In the late 1990s, Brent quickly established himself as a DJ, securing gigs that highlighted his ability to connect with audiences through his music. However, family responsibilities temporarily shifted his focus away from music. Now, with more time to devote to his craft, Brent has returned to the industry with renewed focus.

Brent is the founder of Pro B Tech Management, a company that encompasses two record labels and an artist management division. Under his leadership, Pro B Tech has grown into a respected name in the industry, aligning itself with other prominent labels such as Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, and OneDotSixtwo. Brent’s strategic approach to management and production has positioned Pro B Tech as a rising force in the Progressive House genre.

In addition to his role at Pro B Tech, Brent serves as a Proton Radio Monthly resident & curator, and manages his responsibilities as a maintenance planner for offshore platforms.

Brent’s production work has been featured on prestigious labels, including AH Digital, Balkan Connection, Visceral, and Emotional Content Recordings. His tracks have attracted remixes from some of the industry’s leading names, enhancing his profile within the Progressive House community.

As a label boss, DJ, and producer, Brent Lawson continues to influence the global dance music scene through his commitment to high-quality music and innovative approaches to both production and artist management.

Made In Texas

Dance music is a great leveller, it doesn’t matter where you’re from, what place you call home or indeed which electronic cabaret you shake your hips at, the music will always draw people together. Brent Lawson understands this better than many. Growing up in the wilds of Eastern Scotland and now working as a Planner, dance music is his passion; his escape; his level playing field.  

 

Raised on a steady diet of 80s synth music, Brent has always had one foot on the dance floor. A clubber first, it was a fateful trip to nearby Arbroath that first opened his mind to the possibilities of electronic music as a DJ: “I had a love for the electronic sounds created by Jean Michele Jarre from that point I was drawn into electronic music.” He says, citing the Rhumba Club a favourite venue from his youth, “This night has informed so many years of my clubbing history and is responsible for everything that I have done and will do.”  

 

The late Nineties were a fertile time for those venturing into DJing. And for Brent, gigs came quickly progressing him up the ladder but he soon found the pressures of family life meant he needed to concentrate on providing a stable environment for his children. Now his kids are grown, Brent is free to refocus on his music and his company Probtech Management, bringing with him the skills of his day job.  
 
Comprised of two record labels and an Artist management, Probtech is a business on the up. Recent additions to the company is Michael Tinder AKA Micke, Michael is taking up the role as A&R for Pro B Tech Music and North American Director for artist management, this shows just how serious Brent takes his brand and processes are in place to put Probtech in the same ballpark as the Bedrock’s, Drumcode’s and Toolroom’s of the industry.  

 

On top of his own work with the Pro B group, Brent has taken up a new role with MOAI Spain as the U.K. and Ireland consultant, he is also a director and resident of AATM Radio, resident of Music Is The Answer Dundee, Proton Radio Monthly resident, and soon to be taking on a new residency with Beach Radio. 

 

At heart Brent is a DJ who just loves to share his passion for the music with his audience. Resident at one of Dundee’s premiere nights - Music is The Answer - he regularly rubs shoulders with the best DJs in the world. Brent is also making his first forays into the production world with a few releases under his belt, including music with Hernan Cattaneo, Soundexile, Quivver, Blue Amazon and most recently a new released on Balkan Connections..
