A note by the composer:
The Pequod is the whaling ship in Moby Dick. I read Moby Dick last summer for the first time while on the coast of Oregon. The immensity of the dark Pacific coast only made the book more real to me. While reading I contemplated the scope of the Pequod’s journey on the vast sea and the scope of Captain Ahab's futile quest to conquer the white whale, which led to the Pequod's inevitable demise. It was both beautiful and terrifying and this piece tries to capture the spirit of the novel. I use the electronics and strings in a way that at times are abrasive and grating in order to feel the immense weight of an unforgiving and impartial world, and other times the music emerges with moments of light simplicity out of the darker more sonically oppressive moments.

@trngs is a maximalist hi-fi music producer, multimedial artist and an occasional but quite a good sk8ter. After us grinding heavy on his last year’s projects BILOCATE and LAPTOP CREMATION, we reached out and he shared couple of very intense wav. files with us to put on our bandcamp. 

All the three files contain visceral sound tangles, which TRNGS himself (with our honest confirmation) insists on calling „dance“ music. Like in the cover of the record, which is capturing the tragedy of today's environmental condition, bits of the artificial sound elements blend insensibly into the organic material, all together creating a complicated 3-part puzzle, layed out on dark and rather disturbing background. 
„I am very passionate about making music with sort of uncanny relationship between synthesized and sampled sounds“, describes TRNGS on that note. 

We have designed a sleek 3D-printed flower pot as an object accompanying the EP, so you can plant yourself a dose of organic green hope (with possible shades of purple) into this tiny zen garden.

‘Chyo’ is the debut EP for Rest Now! by Tristan, the French multidisciplinary artist Tristan Brundler. Tristan makes music like he sculpts: by shaping voices, empty landscapes, organic forms, melting plastic and vegetals to create spaces and dimensions to walking in.

It goes through stages of recovery, deconstruction, reassembly and fusion of sound materials. Tristan's musical will meets his sculptural desire: to create places, atmosphere and poetry. Swaying between electronic violence and mental sweetness, between ambient, club, neo-trap and darkwave influences, Tristan tries to move forward in the construction of his psychological projection space.

‘Chyo’ is a poetic area of future inquiries. During the production, Tristan worked with the artists Migu and Whiterose for the vocal parts. Tristan describes ‘Chyo’: "all is falling out, and I don’t understand what I’m doing here, what is the sense of my presence in this environment."
