Twothousandandseventeen. A world full of super computers, mass surveillance, privacy encroachments, corrupt governments, censorship, broken moral compasses, fear mongering and cyber wars. Twothousandandseventeen. The beginning of the end. 

"Insert Coins To Continue" is the latest EP from Bricolage label head, Fragile X. It sees him explore themes of futurism, dystopian warnings and the current political climate over the course of 5 new compositions of sprawling digital landscapes, where machines rule the world and humans have dropped to the bottom of the intelligence ladder. Mangled, mechanical, electronics and crunching metallic structures collide as they sit atop a wasteland of glitches, cuts n clicks and futuristic ambience. "Insert Coins..." is the caustic creation of a fractured and twisted cybernated world in which syncopated rhythms clamber over the top of each other, vying for supremacy as they wire themselves together in contorted sonic waves that spread themselves around the electronic web of sounds that is carefully weaved out over the listening experience.

My label, Bricolage, will celebrate a decade of releasing music at the end of the month.

We have a mammoth compilation to mark the date.

The Dormon brothers have been honing their craft since the 90's. Releasing a raft of albums and EPs on some great labels like Piehead, Lom, Senton, Progerik and the seminal Toytronic, over the years. "Toytronic" in particular, was one of the labels that inspired what we do here at Bricolage. It had a huge impact on me as a teenager and the Multiplex "Pinghaus Frequencies" album from the label was constantly on rotation in my bedroom. It's pretty surreal that now, more than twenty years after hearing that album, we can welcome them onto the label. The world works in magical ways.

"Multiplex recordings are far from the standard studio format, as we build up the tracks on two sets of music equipment, in two countries, with two biased opinions of what the final result should be. But instead of fighting for control of the studio and the mix, we surrender control of our ideas to each other, which has worked well so far."

The result makes for raw, analogue chaos. When they go hard they go all in but there's also the other side that seeps through with their more textured electronica that breezes along so smoothly.

The "Colour Kinetica" album has all the Multiplex hallmarks. Abrasive yet vibrant melodies, cyber basslines and elastic rhythms. They take the genre's bleeps and bass elements and put them through their own audio grinder to create a unique brand of head spinning electro.

"Colour Kinetica" is their first new album in quite some time and it's safe to say it's been worth the wait as we get to enter into an innovative sonic realm.
