Personal Clubbing Journey through the magnificent 1990s: UK - Hong Kong - Japan
The Brickhouse & The Hacienda during the 1991 Madchester era... I then took a sabbatical to be a cruise ship doctor in the Caribbean in 1992-93.
In 1994 Club Maximus in Leicester Square, London was an epicentre for acid trance. In 1995 The Fridge in Brixton hosted Return To The Source, Goa trance legends who played at the Waterfront in Norwich on my mate's Stag Do, the night before his wedding!
Strawberry Sundae's first night was in a sweaty basement on Drury Lane, and later moved under the Vauxhall railway arches...which was just down the road from the Best Club Ever- Sunnyside Up!
In 1995 I visited clubs all around the UK: The Hippo Club in my home town of Cardiff, Lakota in Bristol; Liverpool's famous Cream, Blackpool Palace, The Vault in Edinburgh, Back To Basics in Leeds...and The Ministry Of Sound, Turnmills & Heaven in London.
Then onto Hong Kong for 2 years, 1996/97 where DJ Lee Burridge started off his career in some seedy little clubs in Wanchai. Moving to Japan for the next 4 years, we had a blast at Chikuya Club, The Liquid Room, Maniac Love, Yokohama Bay Hall, and the Fuji trance festival. Saw Paul Van Dyk live at Akasaka Blitz...
