We are delighted to present to you yet another up and coming artist to the Dirt Crew family. Petals In Sound’s style is best described as a refreshing mix of deep electronics and atmospheric deep house.

This whole release represents a theme of change and a sense of being ‘reborn’. The 2020 pandemic changed everything for everyone and for Petals In Sound this included becoming a mother and embracing a new lifestyle. After more than a decade of living, working and partying in south east London, 2022 Petals In Sound made the move to the Merseyside coastal suburb of Crosby, Liverpool to create a new life for her family.

‘Citrus’ the opener of the EP delves into the changes brought by pregnancy. A powerful droning synth and heavy bass drive the track but always keeping it at a gentle pace and making it the perfect late night deep closing jam. The title track ‘See the Morning Light’ reflects letting go and embracing what new life brings. With the great piano opening it catches immediate attention and when that bass line picks you up this track evolves into a beautiful “summer” tune, uplifting and full of positivity. Her last new tune ‘Slack Jazz // Your Love’ is a lil dance floor anthem which brings synths-a-plenty and a driving bass hook creating lots of energy. Here as well the originality of Petals In Sound shines through the whole track and makes her style stand out.

Last but certainly not least we asked our new crew member KaySoul to rework “See the Morning Light”. He used the main piano loop, vocal snips and added his typical jackin’ beats, cut up style and soulful touch we love so much in his productions. We are pretty sure this track also has the perfect “cool” vibe for a hot steamy party in or outside. Enjoy!

Do you know that tipping point, when an average gathering at a bar turns into a dancing party? A few seconds ago, you´ve been mixed up in boring small talk, then you suddenly get distracted by unobtrusive but cheerful sounds that unwittingly make your head bob, let you turn around and at least let you unintentionally find yourself in a bunch of smiling and dancing people…. so, music can save the night - Freudenthalers “Bar Rescue EP” definitely does. It appears nonchalant and unexcited, but always with a compelling spell. 
With a touch of swing, a wobbling bass line and all the jazzy elements and cheering voices “The Swingers” gives that perfect vibe to really get a party going. “Worthy” is nearly cracking that harmony with raw, almost careless cut Afro Latin jazz samples, deep chords and spherical particles embedded, but a funky bass always keeps the easy vibe. “Lingerie” opens the flip-side with a tight beat, perfectly complemented with a noisy piano lick, strings, horns and some hip hop cuts. “Overseas Phone Number” then rounds out the release by featuring a swinging rhythm, lovely string pads, pleasant saxophone parts and paying tribute to a French rap classic. Altogether, you will answer it with a smile, for sure. With this in your bag, you´ll be prepared for toughest rescues!

We had to wait five odd years to finally manage to release the very first record entirely produced by Kisk on Apparel Tronic. The label’s co-founder and co-owner put together a stunning experimental mini LP called ‘Weeks’, which contains seven tracks, named after every day of the week from ‘Monday’ to ‘Sunday’. The digital album features a vast range of sonic experimentations, applied on several different tempos and epitomises Kisk’s urgency of changing, during a very defined time span, his perspective on music production. The hard-hitting rhythm sections, the creamy bass-lines and the frantic, eerie atmospheres that he is able to display in ‘Weeks’ haven’t always been the cornerstone characteristics of his musical formation, which so-far have been rotating pretty much around Jazzy House, Jungle and Trip-Hop. However, the style exercise he put in place with this LP explains his tireless determination for finding new motivations, new stimuli and perfectly represents his puzzled, unorthodox, curious personality. ‘Weeks’ is the most accurate example of his versatility and we’re thrilled to introduce you to it, on Apparel Tronic, always on the lookout for innovation, newness and sonic mutation.

Supercontinent EP, named for the ancient geological era when Africa and South America were joined as Pangea.

A reformulation of rhythmic ideas inspired by South African Amapiano and South American Baile Funk governs the two hemispheres of the record. The pair examine and deconstruct dancefloor material, eschewing 4/4 for interlocking shaker patterns, searing acid lines, cracking breakbeats, and vocal samples in Zulu and Brazil Portuguese.

An ascending percussive riff marks the arrival of “Pulgueiro Baile”, followed closely by break beats and the nostalgia of distinctly British acid electro. While pulguero translates as ‘flea market’ there is nothing random to be found; it is an intentionally future-forward retelling of a vintage sound, replete with a mind-melt breakdown of rave pads.
