I discovered the Dead can Dance in 1995 (and i thanks to my dearest friends:  the brothers Pino and Filippo Sabatelli for that)
One of the songs that immediately struck me was this ...
With its sense of austerity that gave to me and the magnificent voice of Brendan Perry
An iconic group. 
Of those you will always listen to.
I don't feel it's a real cover
But, certainly my personal tribute to this group.
From the second part of the original piece (performed on flute and uillean pipes)
I extracted and modified the harmony by inserting it in the tail of this piece
combining several recent musical ideas.
It is certainly a project to be further investigated and elaborated, also because
there is a synth to tame with some parameter adjustments.
but still a good first version.

The Shimmering Forth

Sounds were produced by my electric dulcimer routed through LogicPro and enhanced with Valhalla DSP effects.  Very slow tempo - virtually no rhythm but a constant slow pulse (feels to me like I am out on a boat in the ocean with its engine off - rising up and going down on slow swells).  Minimalistic with a simple repetitive pattern.  Instrumental.  Atmospheric textural depth from lush reverb yielding sustained atmospheric drones that create a sense of space and distance.  The reverb plus generous panning facilitates an immersive environment.

I'm continuing to learn from experimenting with chord progressions.  This song and the previous song I did "Moonlight Harmonies" share the same chord progression but with different instrumentation, at different tempos, and different reverb.  Both are exceptionally slow takes of the chord progression from the Doors' "Light My Fire" released in 1967.  Robby Krieger was 20 when he created this chord pattern at that time, he was a self taught guitarist who gained his education through personal exploration rather than formal training.

then (bVII - I - IV)(G - A - D) play 3 times

Note: that this progression starts off with a minor emphasis and then ends with a major emphasis.  Can you hear it?

I'm primarily a guitar player but I'll try to make music with anything you throw at me. When left to my own devices I enjoy recording minimalist ambient pieces and textural soundscapes. My principal sound source for these efforts is manipulated guitar but I often include electronics and organic sources. I enjoy working on collaborations with other musicians.
