Like Rust

i reworked this song, I never really finished it when i posted it, i just kind of wanted to move on. This is a better song now.. I still can't get the vocals to sound right.. 
NOTE: I remixed this song, was able to get the pops and crackles out of the vocals

This music relates the battle of the god Susanoo against the eight-headed dragon Yamata-No-Orochi. He must had the dragon drink a lot of sake to win the fight (I guess you can hear this near the end ^^).

This is an original love song that recalls such a vivid passion that he temps fate by dare asking if all these years later it could be reignited. Despite all odds, he ponders the seemingly impossible.

Brain Diver

I almost chose the name "Free Agent" for this track b/c it maybe would better describe my playing, meaning e.g. that I do not always see the borders between different music genres or styles as very decisive for my playing and in music generally. That is why I for example earlier made a version of the Albinoni/Giazzotto Adagio in G Minor orchestrated for Rhodes electric piano sound.

I first came to know the acid jazz genre especially through the giants Jamiroquai, Incognito and The Brand New Heavies in the mid-1990's and before that through the Australian band Directions In Groove (D.I.G.). I most certainly am not a trained jazzer but that did not stop me from trying to make an improvised "smooth acid jazz" track. Played by me with my Korg SGProX digital piano using the following sounds: the Lounge Lizard EP-4 (the top class Rhodes electric piano and lead sounds), the Scarbee Jay-Bass (played from near the bridge) and the unbelievable Native Instruments Abbey Road 70s Drummer. The basic drum groove made by me. I tried to decrease the "boxiness" of the kick drum and bring out the bite of the bass but I don't know whether I managed...

Look at a U.S. map, and draw a straight line from Natchez, Mississippi to Richmond, Virginia.  Then cross it with another line from Savannah, Georgia to Memphis, Tennessee.  Next draw a circle around the outside tips of each line.        The area you've encircled is the subject of this song.
     There is so much spectacular beauty in this world, but I just have never found another place that can compare to a thick old-growth Appalachian forest or the rolling hardwood and pine hills of central Alabama or middle Tennessee.
      I grew up there but don't get to go back often enough.
      The song's title White Spangled Hills is reference to the dogwood tree, which grows wild throughout the area, coloring the wooded hillsides with its white blooms for a month or so in early Spring.

The fear and hatred for the man is unprecedented in American politics, yet some 77 million people voted for him in the last election. Detractors & supporters alike agree that he's a disruptor. Some call him a phenomenon; he's certainly an enigma.  And he’s turned the American political culture upside down.  I uploaded this song in October 2020, and perhaps the question in the song title has yet to be answered.

I am not a musician but music plays a very important role in my creative life! I am an artist/designer and music is my companion and my muse in the long hours I spend working in my studio! 
I am immensely impressed and grateful for all the talented and inspiring musicians whose work graces this Cloud, and I will always re-post sounds that I love (and will listen to again) - knowing that others will enjoy them!
