@theoryofyesterday invited me to do the soundtrack for the 10th iteration of their VR experiment.

TOY#10: Imagine a world where we are not able to dance again, what would that sound like?

Theory of Yesterday #10

The second release from the experimental arts collective Under my Feet comes from Incendie – the solo moniker of Berlin-based multimedia artist Arthur Bdt.  The artist is known for his work as part of various collaborative projects, such as ATT Corp (with  Templer), Human Spine, and Axes of Fire. 

‘Relief’ is  Bdt's debut album and acts as a musical diary to express and accept his feelings, marked by grim and abrasive sonics.  This work and its composition are based on the need to face fears and uncomfortable emotions, merging contemporary electronic music with metal and noise influences. Incendie defines the record's sound by blending drone, industrial and deconstructed club sounds with heavy guitar and vocals. ‘Relief’ will be released on Under my Feet on the 29th of October.

We premiere the track Infernal, an apocalyptic industrial inferno, with hostile yet cathartic textures and a metal attitude defined by the killer vocals.

Dim Light is a record label owner and DJ based in Berlin.

Being a music nerd since his early youth, he got into listening to electronic music around 20 years ago. After several years of practicing all by himself he started releasing online mixes around 2011.

In 2015 he launched Nemorous Records together with Anja Zaube and after that played a few selected gigs at events like Apathy at Grießmühle, Tokonoma in Kassel oder Smallroom in Bielefeld, sharing the decks with artists like Talker and Oake.

In 2017 he finally started his own brainchild Voidance Records, so far releasing 5 EPs and 2 tapes and hosting 2 showcases in 2019. Voidance Records deals with the darkest strains of the electronic music genre, hosting new as well as established artists like Meer, Chafik Chennouf&Katsunori Sawa and Llimbs, to name but a few.

Dim Light‘s musical influences range from all different genres like Ambient, Black Metal, Electroacoustic music or Techno, which also reflects in his sets.

Redd Ophis is a resident of label/webzine MOTZ - based in Berlin, London, and Ireland and is the founder of Synthapise, a nonprofit event for animal rights causes. They have a monthly radio residency with AAJA Music, exploring dark-melancholy-harshness in realms of industrial/industrial-techno, dark ambient, cyberpunk and EBM. Redd Ophis also writes poetry and her poetry-vocals feature on End Train’s “The Day I Didn’t Want to Wake Up”, which expresses breaking the chains of conditioned thinking in a society (released on Code Is Law, 2019).

With no time for stagnation, he expands his music horizons at queer parties with more body music, sweat and escapism through dancefloor. Pulsing beats and dark, foggy underground places are right places, where he feels like at home. Staying true to his past, he's mixing all of these influences to create new club night FLÄSH. Focusing on industrial, ebm and techno, with guests like Silent Servant and Andi Synthicide, to create new experience in Bratislava.
