Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Thursday morning (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 16th March: from around midday on Friday you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch359

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which will be invisible to everyone. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks that have been previously submitted and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

We're excited to announce the release of our first ever soundtrack : the score for the feature length documentary 'Chasing the Present' by Icelandic composer and producer @snorrihallgrimsson. 

Co-produced by Ólafur Arnalds, Hallgrímsson’s stunning score makes use of filtered strings and pianos to emphasize the title character's depression. In the soundtrack's beautiful title track, which is available now on spoti.fi/32wNgH1, the filter opens completely to showcase the mind's enormous potential when it breaks free from perpetual anxiety. The song is part two of Debris Discs' hope and survival audio triptych, following ‘Daniel and the Apocalypse’ released earlier in the year. This time around the tempo is notched up with driving bass, bouncing beats and rousing choruses, tempered by woozy synths, twisted guitars and washed-out harmonics. The result is a disorientating slice of sonic reverie.

Inspired by a visit to Debris Discs' grandparent’s memorial bench on a windswept day on the North West English coast, We Never Die is an attempt to find comfort in the despair of loss. It tells the story of lifetime lovers so entwined they reach their end of days in tandem. They search for solace in the legacy they leave behind and a love that burns in perpetuity. It’s a message to each other and their families that this is not the end. There are no goodbyes.
