With releases on the likes of Distant Hawaii, Moods & Grooves and Rhythm Section, DJ and producer Hidden Spheres has carved out a distinctive sound: combining soulful house, smooth melodies and a warm, jazzy-influence.

Also hosting a monthly show on NTS titled ‘Fruit Merchant’, which has most recently evolved into a new record label and musical outlet, the Manchester-based artist this week turns in the latest contribution to our mix series.

It’s a real pick-me-up mix, both for the listener and for DJ himself - Hidden Spheres having recorded the mix “therapeutically” during a bedridden period. Full of uplifting disco, warm retro throwbacks and invigorating funky jams - we’d certainly prescribe it as the perfect listening remedy.

Mark du Mosch is a DJ, producer and live-act from Rotterdam. Active since the early 90’s, Mark has cemented his name as a true underground legend in the Dutch dance music scene. His extensive catalogue encompasses raw, Detroit-influenced techno and electro with a distinct Euro flare, and introspective house that moves both the body and mind on the dancefloor. Once again we are gladly able to present you with an insight into the record collection of a truly passionate musician constantly seeking out new sounds and influences. This time from a Bristol based artist whose an integral part of the vibrant underground scene. It’s great to hear so much locally sourced and UK pressed vinyl and support for the city’s rich network of digging spots. 

Admin is known for a broad spectrum of musical influences, utilising Bristol’s fine musical heritage, as well as expanding the horizon with his own deep knowledge of soul, disco, and jazz that truly shines through in his Bside mix.

His productions are a tasteful blend of his disco jazz influences and a modern electronic style. Enter a deep astral soundscape with this Bside to his Spirit Boogie release:

a bi-weekly invitation into the impressive record collections of some of our favourite selectors.
An exploration into the the back-catalogues, the deepest depths, the darkest crevices of their collections. Returning with the spoils of this venture: their most cherished records and hidden gems, from the go-to club weapons to the rarely heard home-listening records, and everything in between.

Music is for sharing.

'By the early sixties, the song on the A-side was the 'hit' song that the record company wanted radio stations to play. The B-side would contain less radio friendly and less popular tracks. In our eyes the B-side is a true reflection of the producers taste in music, there is more personality on that side of the record'.
