‘(Don’t) Luv Me’ EP is the fourth offering from B:Thorough’s experimental Textured imprint, following the well-received ‘Jetstream / R4’ EP with Shayu. The five-track project is B:Thorough’s first Textured release with no artist features, allowing him free reign to experiment with unique sounds and composition techniques.

Title track ‘(Don’t) Luv Me’ layers rattling snares and chopped vocals over an ominous, pulsing bassline, while lush pads transform the breakdowns into cinematic dreamscapes.

On eerie second track ‘Her’, B:Thorough demonstrates elements of his signature style, pairing spaced-out icy synth plucks and disorientating counter melodies with intricate yet hard-hitting drums.

‘Lab Render’, inspired by Alex Garland’s 2018 sci-fi film ‘Annihilation’, sees B:Thorough reimagine the film’s renowned score in his own style, combining pixellated melodies with a distorted alien bassline.

The EP continues with an unreleased B:Thorough classic finally available in its full form. Trippy tearjerker ‘Selfish’ first circulated among a select few DJs in 2021 and has since received support from some of the scene’s top names on Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio and SWU FM.

‘Selfish’ joins a long list of B:Thorough works to have had the ‘devil mix’ treatment. Here, the removal of percussion amplifies forlorn melodies and allows the precisely laid 8-bit plucks to shine.
