Parisian producers – Jacques Bon and Vincent Drux – take a seat with TTA to discuss their specializations inside a shared space and within their debut album, A Long Way. For thirteen years, Jacques Bon managed (the now retired) Paris branch of Smallville Records. Otherwise, Jaques Bon has earned an impressive reputation, releasing on other notable record labels such as Giegling, Live at Robert Johnson, and Mule Musiq. Vincent Drux is a “behind-the-scenes type”; who uproots his technical background as a sound engineer to hone his sonic pallet. While majoring in sound design, Drux recently started his own label, Cabale Records… stay tuned as they launch past the infancy stages. Although this is their first album together, the two are long-acquainted, their first joint track being Fading Sail – released on Lawrence’s Dial Records – in 2020. The duo's like-minded friendship revels in a balanced dynamic of musical intersections. Ideal for those in-between hours, A Long Way (released 7/1/22) is eight tracks, featuring futuresque blends of warm color atop some cooler minimal shades. Despite the standing point, Jacques Bon and Drux’s recent collaboration has requited a positively bittersweet confection.

Marvin & Guy have an undefinable, utterly distinctive touch, one that has carried them through their native Italy and up among the stars, transforming the duo into the orchestrators of countless transcendent moments in dance culture.

Originally beginning as an anonymous disco edit project between two friends, their musical universe has since expanded outwards, including releases on definitive labels such as Life and Death, Permanent Vacation, Correspondent and Hivern Discs. Floral Notes is a DJ, producer and visual artist based in Berlin who co-hosts the Trouble in Paradise show on Cashmere Radio.

As a DJ his main focus is house music, with an emphasis on the deep and dubby side of things. This mix leans heavily on early '00s golden era minimal, beginning and ending with tracks by Thomas Melchior, and the whole thing is shot through with dreamy pads. The tempo hovers just below 120 throughout, each track unfolding at a leisurely pace before passing the baton.

Stefano Curti, the visionary music producer and mastermind behind VIBRAPHONE Records, epitomizes the essence of Italy's internationally acclaimed Underground House Music scene. His journey through music began amidst the fervor of post-punk, weaving through the realms of industrial and electronic landscapes. In the late 80s, Stefano made history as part of the pioneering music collective, The True Underground Sound of Rome, laying the foundation for what would become his indelible mark on the genre.
In 1990, Stefano founded Vibraphone Records in the vibrant heart of London, with its maiden release, "NIGHT PASSAGE" by 49th Floor, etching its place in musical history. Crafted within the confines of Stefano's North London bedroom, this debut epitomized the true spirit of house music – raw, authentic, and unapologetically underground. Embracing a hands-on approach, Stefano personally distributed records from the trunk of his Fiat Panda, traversing the streets of London, forging connections with each shop and every DJ who craved the pulse of the underground.

What started out as an anonymous outlet for freedom of musical expression, Bonar has released a string of well received EPs and a killer debut album as Vyvyan. 

He's been a staple of the Leeds scene over the past two decades and having spent many hours on the dancefloor hearing him play during our formative years here, it's an honour to have him on board the series.
