With Amsterdam’s house scene continuing to flourish, M-High has seen his stock surge in recent months. Still young in the game, his releases and remixes via labels such as META, Moxy Muzik and Politics Of Dancing have seen him flying high alongside his fellow compatriots while also evolving from a label regular to A&R duties at PIV alongside founder Prunk. Having featured for the label’s New Year’s Day party in London, the Dutchman touches down on LOCUS for the first time with four fresh productions via his ‘Enchant Me’ EP.
Title cut ‘Enchant Me’ is a slick and classy effort fusing rich chords and skipping drums with zipping acid lines, while ‘Do You Even Groove’ pairs things back as rolling drums and sweeping electronics zig-zag through sparse textures. Next, ‘Endless Whispers’ combines sharp organ stabs with breezy pads and warm basslines, with the low-end heavy ‘Faded Senses’ closing the show and offering up yet more late-night dancefloor grooves.

Maybe my inner grooves are struck. A moment ago we took a break from reality. That’s when it all began. Candid synths recommend heading to the dancefloor. Hello again, old friend. But that’s not all. Over and over again we are reminded of the genius of house music. Xylophones, modular synthetic madness are all part of the show.

'Lithuanian producer Pletnev might have some occasional fun under the various aliases of Ponty Mython and Moisk, but he here returns to his most central alias on 'When The Job Is Done', his latest EP.

Four bits of 90s-inspired ambient acid house, techno and breakbeat all collide into a wispy and cinematic foray through aetherial post-aquatic electronics. 

Wetness ('Water Can Keep Secrets Too') and dryness (the B tunes) both occupy the wax in equal, complementary measure.

All danceable, of course.

Dare we say, they're synthetic enough to evoke thoughts of what might happen if Laurie Andserson and Vangelis took eccies together.'

Superb work  as always here from Lithuania's @pletnev, with a choice cut from his new @burninmusic EP 'When The Job Is Done'. Atmospheric synth swoops play out a melancholic riff while juicy acid rises from the depths, all pummeling along at a pacey clip. Great attention to detail throughout.

"It's been a while Suze - you're looking more beautiful than ever" we utter, audibly nervously as the door slams open off it's hinges, nothing but blinding white light and the sonic textures of her most recent offering gradually crescendoing and filling up the room. "JEANS" she booms,  shattering the glass from our hands. "errm, are they new?" we stutter - the music now growing inhumanly loud. The light is vacuumed back through the door, the room is now silent and dully lit - a strange square shaped package is left in the middle of the room. We tear it open - "Ah, it's Jeans' new EP out on Whos Susan".

After all that drama, we put the record on and chose which track to share with you. This was X-Coast's beastly remix, which is about as gagging for 'tha cloob' as your 18 year old self, wearing your older brothers black winkle pickers draped with blue raw denim, foying of a Paco Rabanne gift set.
