We are thrilled to welcome @jelrgreen this week, host of Greenhaus Radio on VPN. Her musical background spans from her roots of growing up in Detroit, relocating to Chicago, then finally settling in Seattle where she has made a name for herself over the airwaves. With a rich history of over 10 years in broadcast media and radio, Jenn's work has been featured on platforms such as World Wide FM and KEXP, and is a former member of Seattle's TUF initiative.

Clark Price is one third of the Honcho crew, along with Aaron Clark and d'Ahdemar, who operate parties from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Starting up in 2012 as a monthly night at Hot Mass, a club downstairs in a local gay bathhouse, the party has grown to become one of the most well-known and highly-regarded events within queer clubbing circles. Credited in helping to galvanise a genuine party scene within the small, post-industrial city of Pittsburgh, Honcho and Hot Mass have become synonymous with interesting, varied dance music in an environment packed with energy. Price's sets are a reflection of the breadth of the booking policy at Hot Mass, who not only host both emerging and established Midwest talent, but also frequently bring in DJs from the UK and beyond. Bass, breaks, electro and techno are the mainstays of what Price plays and we can only imagine the energy in which he delivers the music is a reflection of the dancefloors he is accustomed to playing to. Amongst those who have been lucky enough to witness Clark play at Honcho, Hot Mass or elsewhere, there is a unanimity regarding his quality. With the fifth edition of Honcho's Summer Campout returning to the beautiful Four Quarters Interfaith Sanctuary in August with a lineup of completely new talent, we are super hyped to have Price on board to provide our 241st Truancy Volume. He also answered a few questions for us about Honcho, Pittsburgh and the mix.

It's up to Violet to step up to the plate for our final podcast of the year. The Lisbon-based artist, honcho of the naive & naivety labels, co-founder of Rádio Quântica ánd co-organizer of a queer event series called mina is one the main faces of Lisbon's exciting and blooming underground music scene.

Her mix is a textbook example of elegant and controlled chaos, going from electro to bass to rave, leaving us on a high tension for 60 minutes. We couldn't close the year any better if you'd ask us.

This Summer we lost a Pittsburgh institution, the funkiest grocery store in the world, the Bloomfield Shur-Save IGA. Though the quality of their steaks was questionable, the quality of their tunes was undeniable. I spent many days aimlessly wandering the aisles & trainspotting tracks. Every boogie funk oriented DJ based in Pittsburgh agreed: the Shur-Save was a better DJ than any of us. And while it's been gone for about 6 months now, its legacy remains. The Community Market could never. While not a literal representation of the music played in-store, this mix is my tribute to the one of a kind ~vibe~ embodied by the Shur-Save. Enjoy.
