We feel excited to announce the first release from The Funk District on Cacao Records, titled Machweo. The name Machweo means sunset in Swahili, perfectly capturing the essence of this outstanding production. Featuring soft and mellow keys, this track exudes deep vibes ideal for a summer sunset, complemented by a melancholic flute solo that adds a touch of nostalgia. 

The release also includes a second track, Sigi Tolo, which references the Dogon people and the Sirius Star. Renowned for their knowledge about space and extraterrestrials, the Dogon peoples legacy is intricately woven into this track. Sigi Tolo offers a spacey vibe blended with soulful elements, creating a captivating and introspective journey.

Cacao Records is a Central American label based in Berlin, founded by the Keene brothers aka KEENE from Panama. Rooted with a knack for refreshing exotic dopeness of house & techno flavors, destined for late night dancefloors.

A soulful deejay and spiritual dancer.

Rhobodub worked at the first Ukrainian vinyl shop Diskultura and was a part of the Kyiv house scene. Then Thommy moved to L’viv where became a member of the Hypnohouse parties. For his career, Rhobodub performed in 14 countries.

Nowadays, Thommy lives in Chernivtsi—the most architecturally graceful city in Ukraine—manages the Hustlers community and floats down through various dimensions of music: deep, minimal, afro, soulful and funky house; deep, dub, minimal tech house and techno; techstep, dubwise, liquid and soulful drum & bass; minimal dub, digital dancehall, roots reggae, etc.
