Hey it's a cool little jam! I felt the need for that half-time there at the end. Some bouncing bass lines sprinkled with little solos here-and-there, though some pretty gritty synthwork is all around. Good job!

nice jam. the backing is well produced and funky - but a little repetitive for my tastes. I really enjoyed it going half time at the end. nice touch.

I do believe you went overboard with the fiddly soloing. It does not compensate the repetitiveness. Does have a humorous charm to it, though.

considering you are coming back after a 10 year break from music - congratulations and stick with OSC.  If you do nothing else you will find satisfaction here!

I dig the production on the percussion and rhythm section in general. Keep up the solid work, man.

PeterBPL - Double Split

This is my entry for the 179th edition of KVR's One Synth Challenge - a month when we could use any synth, so I chose u-he's Zebra Legacy, or more specifically, the Dark Zebra.

Its a single Grid patch triggering 2* 24 Oscillators tuned in the overtone row. One set plays the first 24 overtones, the other set plays the first 24 prime number overtones. Each oscillator in a set has a different speed. I modulate the waveforms and the attack and decay times of the oscillators, which creates the changing sounds...

This month's one synth challenge felt like actual work! Any synth, hard or soft so I opted to use one of my wee pile of hardware synths: IK Multimedia's Uno Synth Pro. Midi tracks were laid down in Waveform Pro and recorded (repeatedly) one track at a time as audio. At least my Scarlett 8i6 also gets a look in here...

Anyhoo, 15 'instances' of the IK Uno Synth Pro recorded with Tracktion Waveform Pro 12 and the following plugins:

- The usual Clip to Zero collection of dpMeter 5, Blue Cat Gain 3 and KClip 3
- Tracktion TEqualiser
- TRacks EQP-1A and Black 76 to tame the snare a bit
- Tracks Comprexxor to glue the layered kick
- Air Drumsynth 500 as a percussion standin as the percussion tracks were bounced from the Uno (disabled in the final mix)
- TRacks Bus Compressor on the percussion mix buss
- Mastering the Mix BASSROOM, MIXROOM and LEVELS on mastering duty along with TDR Kotelnikov and TRacks Stealth Limiter
- IK Uno Synth Pro Editor for patch editing convenience

One synth preset was used (Reso Pad) while the rest of the sounds were created from init.

[PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] is proud to present its 77th release. A soundtrack for a dystopia that no one ever wrote. K-Joshua (@dj-joshua) from Setúbal transmits into the ether Opposite Falls EP — nine audio fragments from a parallel chronicle. This is not just dub techno. This is a memory of a world where falling is a form of ascent. There are falls that lead you upward. There is sweetness that tastes bitter. There is music that doesn't echo in the ears, but in the spaces between thoughts. All of this — Opposite Falls EP by K-Joshua — is a new coil in the paradoxical spiral of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB].

Here, sound flows like water against the current. It climbs the slopes of the mind, skimming the familiar, revealing the impossible. Five original narratives:

:::Bitter Fall — not sorrow, but clarity at the edge of collapse.
:::Sweet Fall — not joy, but release, gentle as ashes over a desert.
:::Deep Uncertainty — the heart of the EP, the breath of a universe undecided in its own becoming.

:::Absolute Certainty — a trap of the mind. Where there is a point, there is no movement. And without movement — no life.

Hidden in the sleeves of this record are four alchemists:

:::Oldschool_Dubtechno .Producer Version (@enercube & @x_fr) returns to the roots — where roots are wires buried in the soil of sub-bass and chords as energy.
:::Protyv (@protyv) splits the “Fall” into two beams of light: one cuts through concrete, the other dances on the surface of rain.
:::Jonah van der Hout (@jonahvanderhout) brings us "Absolute Uncertainty" — like a code left behind by a civilization that no longer exists.

Opposite Falls EP by K-Joshua is a space built from sound — like the seaside streets of Setúbal, in the half-shade of old facades and salty winds. Each track invites you into a room with its own acoustics. In one — the whisper of water rushing upward. In another — concrete vibrating with the rhythm of ancient techno archaeology. And somewhere in between — silence where absolute uncertainty hides. This release doesn't seek logic. It lives in between. Between architecture and nature. Between sweetness and bitterness.
