the Source mix of the Cadenza "Source to Cycle" Podcast is meant to showcase your musical influences. I chose to showcase the music of my first real clubbing and DJ experiences from 1987 to 1991 (PRE- U.S.rave culture)... an era generally referred to as "Alternative Dance Music" which was a dark mix of post-punk, gothic and also very influenced by Chicago via the Wax Trax Records industrial sound and early house music like Master C & J - Dub Love or imports like A Guy Called Gerald's classic "Voodoo Ray". This is what an hour of a night i was DJ-ing sounded like during those years...

Although this is part 4 of a long running mix, as with the other parts this is intended to work both as a part of a bigger picture and also as stand alone piece.  This piece see's a rise in tempos and in places it ventures into darker, gnarlier territories than those that have come before it.

Christopher Milo AKA DJ Three, has been an important figure head on the American underground dance movement since the 1990s.  Contributing to production projects like Hallucination, Second Hand Satellites and Montage Men, as well as becoming one of the most trusted and musically knowledgeable DJs on the circuit, DJ Three continues to move and inspire the most discerning crowds across the globe.  Hailing from Pittsburgh, and growing up in the fertile period of post punk, industrial and early house and rave sounds, Three has held residencies in Florida, Twilo in New York, and regular spots for Fabric in London and the legendary Wicked parties in San Francisco.  So, prepare for an audacious ride over the next two hours from a real DJs DJ…

Andu Simion is no newcomer to the minimal scene. Primarily known for his work across various projects, he has contributed singles to numerous esteemed minimal labels and developed several collaborative ventures. A founding member of Lisière Collectif, he learned early on how to guide a dancefloor on a hypnotic, grooving journey, consistently surprising with a playful selection of tracks designed to mimic a trip through the night, body, space, and time.

Hailing from the outskirts of Ploiești, Romania, the city's industrial character is audible in his deep, subtly acid-infused sound. This distinct style has led to vinyl releases on Priku's labels Atipic and Atipic Lab, as well as on the prestigious Detroit imprint Moods & Grooves. He is also one half of projects like A Dublu and Anduli, and as a well-established member of the Romanian underground, boasts numerous releases on respected labels such as Howl Records, Polen, Particular, and Diffuse Reality.
