The time has finally come to kickstart the “CadetCast” series and what a way to kick it off with the one and only eja aje. 

I’m sure most of you know of him by now and if you don’t then seriously have a dig on his channel if you want to go down a rabbit hole of rare progressive gems. 

Eja’s really stuck to his guns and showed us he really is the maestro of Progressive house, trance and everything in-between.

Back in 2014, I went to Nantes to play in a sweaty basement where the DJ booth was an extension of the bar. I was invited by the Voiceless guys Alëx and Thomy who I remained good friends with since then. They opened a cool wine-bar called 303 in their hometown.  Super happy to release this podcast from Alëx.

Not that much of a breakfast-person but Yoghurt and crushed knäckebröd is what I eat mostly for breakfast.

What’s your musical 'guilty pleasure'?
Don’t really believe in guilty pleasures, but If anything I guess Persian dance-pop from the 80s and 90s that reminds me of my childhood.

Does your alias have a backstory?
Well, its my name so I guess that’s the backstory haha

What’s the best thing you’ve ever got for free?
I would say education

Do you have a party trick?
Maybe annoying people with talking/bad jokes?

What’s your current rotation of non-dance music?
Bill Evans, Pari Zangeneh, Saint Vitus, Terry Riley

Where's your current favourite place(s) in the world (and why)?
Körner Park in Berlin is nice during summer as well as some places in Rydsgård, Sweden. But it’s not summer now, so I would say our living room in our apartment, it has a nice view.

Any other passions besides music?
I enjoy playing basketball a lot as well as cooking

What’s something you’re proud of about yourself?
My ability to procrastinate

Almost 4 years to the day, our Breathecast crawled forth from the primordial soup, and since its miraculous conception, it has provided us with 23 splendid audio recordings from artists across the globe. 

Today it continues to give, with its 24th mixtape coming from French crate digger, Laure. Her mixing prowess and penchant for niche and rare sonicisms has established her as a revered DJ in the ears of those who know. She also recently set up a label, Pitched Peach, with the first release coming soon from Darwin Chamber.
