I met Pascal back in 2013 when I visited his home town Saarbrucken for an outstanding NYE party. From there I believe I was the first promoter to bring him and Etienne to their first international gig, to play in London, the afterparty of the remarkable event that brought back Steve O'Sullivan alongside Daniel Bell and residents including Nicolas Lutz. Still a youngster discovering the joys of the music scene beyond the realms of his native city out to the world, more of Pascal's visits to London followed with a further relocation to Berlin. A regular at CDV, Melliflow parties to Spaced in London and tours reaching as far as Japan, Korea and USA. 

To me an artist is one that takes the external world as influences while never losing the core artistic identity, roots and integrity. Watching Pascal's development from far has been one interesting and gratifying journey. Even at times when periods of silence happened, it always surfaces back with something meaningful to be recognised. Both artists are close to my heart personally as friends, for London times sake but also as badass artists, as always ones I was proud to stand in support of then as I am proud to do now and wouldn't be wrong in saying I can predict a bright future for them. 

...simply because you know when the core is made of realness. 

Pascal recorded this session during the covid lockdown, I find sessions such as these quite revealing as, in the lack of the parties and the scene, one must reflect and exercise an inner exploration as no other input such as the floor is at play.

Next up is our friend Oliver from Sao Paolo. We met on our common friends Antonellas Birthday Party in Florianopolis in 2019... Good times :)

For those familiar with the São Paulo scene, the name Oliver	Gattermayr rings a bell. Involved in several projects that explore less	common musical paths, like	the Subdivisions party	which has been	 key in developing the underground scene, focusing	 primarily on	creating	the	ideal setting for a proper listening experience, hosting	for the first time in the	country artists like XDB, Lamache, Herodot,	Lowris, Mihai as well as Ion Ludwig. Regular in	independent parties	and part of Kickclap Agency, he has had a few international appearances at ToiToi in London, Club Der Visionaire in Berlin, Sequence	Club in Paraguay and Macarena Club in Barcelona, as well as regular	 national	gigs	like D-edge in	Sao	Paulo.

For the second edition of our podcast series, we welcome one of the closest friends of our party: Bevan. He steps up to the plate with nothing but his heart of gold and record bag full of heat.

Quirky, characterful minimal gives way to shimmering progressive and rolling tech house appropriate for the sweetest of mornings. Punctuated by the odd electro-fied bomb or two!

I (Joe) met Ben when I was in my first year of uni - I went to the very first edition of his party series, Surface, and cold-emailed him with a mix of mine hoping to get a slot playing at a Surface event. We got chatting at one of his next events and immediately hit it off. Since then many special musical moments have been shared!

Ben’s got a serious love for music, a voracious appetite for hunting down tunes and learning the craft, and a curious and open mind toward lots of different scenes and sounds.

It’s always a pleasure to have Ben with us, whether that be behind the booth or on the dancefloor - and we’re very grateful to have his contribution for this episode of the Bobcast.
