Set against a backdrop of the dreamy mountains of Labëria in southern Albania, Washed by the Moon, British/German filmmaker Dan Shutt’s directorial debut, is a rich journey through the region’s musical history.

Ahead of the film's premiere on 13 September at Calvert 22 Foundation, we invited Dan Shutt to compile a mix that best encapsulates the Albanian tradition of polyphonic singing.

"Each EP release I’ve got, has to have one track that’s just completely different from my usual sound....something odd that would just surprise the listener!
So that’s the case with “NUMB”  but also it is a proper Collab with Q’AILA, a mixture of both our visions for what we wanted surrounding her mesmerizing voice, and that’s why I think it had such a unique outcome... has to be my favourite production to date!" - EDDIE

Amplifying the emotive feel, an accumulation of alluring vocal work and smooth breakdowns, “Numb”, picks up the tempo with an unexpected yet intriguing mixture of soaring synths and hard techno beats.
